Hello,

let's take the latest custom map, sandland, as an example.

I got very bad fps (low:20 high: 50) on this map with my hardware:
Athlon XP 2800+ (2 GHz) / Geforce FX 5200

I am sure here are some guys around which got some new hardware (dualcore + up-to-date gfx adapter): are the fps "normal", meaning 100, on your machine on this map?
Or is it founded in the map itself and can't be compensated?

mwheeldown22/03/2007 19:16

fps_max 101 ? :D

oehm ... vsync off ?

stinnZ mapper22/03/2007 19:33

I have 90 - 101 fps and I'm playing in a laptop must be something with your settings. Vertical sinc or something :/

I have AMD*Sempron processor 2800+ (1.6 ghz)

NVIDIA GeForce Fx Go 5200 64 mb so I think this map has not bad fps

Volsfootball22/03/2007 22:11

There are so many threads that deal with fps, find one before you start another one ><

Guenhwyvar22/03/2007 23:05

Don't be so petty, vols.

Thanx for the answers. Of course my vsync if turned off and fps_max is 101. On almost every map I have 101 fps constantly.

sandland was just an example, there are other kreedz maps with low fps on my machine: kz_man_climbers, kz_toscana, kz_peak_b01, a.s.o. - do you have 100fps on these maps as well?

Volsfootball23/03/2007 02:28

Oh, I thought you just wanted advice on how to raise your fps, which there are about 5 threads on. . .

FeF23/03/2007 03:26

60-90:) little map 100:)

Fatalis23/03/2007 03:36

The low fps is from the stupid tree models. If you're geeky, just use a different model file for the trees, such as the italy chicken model. You can do this by finding a model in your models folder, then renaming it to the tree model file. Just don't do this if you're recording a demo.

Volsfootball23/03/2007 03:53

lol, jumping a giant chicken. . .

EDIT

Oh, model. :|

conroe 2,4 ghz grforce 7950gt 256mb 2x 512 mb ram @ 800mhz

ye i have 100 fps at that map, or i have 100 fps on all maps, except kz_toscana = 95-100:(

Guenhwyvar23/03/2007 23:21

That's what I wanted to know, thank you faker&knifear.
Thanks to the others as well.

So my (hopefully soon) hardware upgrade brings me, besides a nice performing windows/etc., some fun on these (poorly made) maps.

constant 99-100fps on big maps, e6400 intel core 2 duo 2.13ghz, 7600gt 256mb, 1gb ram, i used to have a old cpu at 2.41ghz with a shit ass motherboard that only supported 4X speed for agp card, had a gforce 5700ve FX, 1gb ram, and got 80-100fps on average sized maps

fischauge04/05/2007 17:18

pwned faker with his high end machine :P

pHs^11/05/2007 21:55

i have only 350 :)

Kyx4o02/06/2007 15:27

mine is arownd 99-100 but it drops some times

pomarola02/06/2007 18:30

with 2.0 Ghz - 1Gb ram - vc 64mb onboard I have 20 fps max. Is it normal or i have bad conf?

¤ syKotic ¤02/06/2007 19:13

pom: Onboard is the keyword there...
get a standalone gfx card, and your fps should rocket upto 100 ez :)
