steamapps is not a valid short file name

Hey,

Everytime i try to install kzmod, i get this error :

"err 1325. steamapps is not a valid short file name"

Any ideas ?

Does KZMod show up in the add/remove programs window?

Yeah it does, but when i try to uninstall, the same error shows up

This problem might be being caused by an invalid registry entry for kzmod. To fix it:

Create a system restore point (always a good idea before changing the registry).

Go to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT/Installer/Products

Search down the list of the folders until you find the one about kzmod.

Delete the folder that has the kzmod data in it. The folders look like this:

3BFFCE01611D6BC35859B90269D1FA7E

Once you delete the appropriate one (it probably won't be the same as above), you should be able to install. In case of any critical issues, restore the computer to the restore point you created and you should be good to go.

I bet if you would've tried to uninstall it with Revo Uninstaller which traces the registry entries and cache data for example, it would've worked. It's a good program if you ever face similiar problems!
