prochallenge2_speed SC

But that seriously sucks if you ask me because map basically looses its purpose. With that 256 lj it's no longer a speed map, as simple as that. Posting this so everybody's aware of this sc to even out conditions, like napz said. Anyway this sc sucks.

It seems like players always find new shortcuts after the map is released and say they suck, even if there are 20 maps without any bugs before that. No one is there when you do a good job, but when you do something bad ....
I'm not criticizing the fact that you posted a sc, but those first two sentences. I don't see how a sc that saves you 5 seconds max , destroys purpose of the map..
Last pro speed map had a bigger sc, but everyone liked it, i don't see this as that big of a deal...
Honestly I would be sad if I was mapper. Why? Sitting on pc for hours and hours trying to make some good map that is entertaining and different than any other and what happens, some guy finds sc that make my job into 20 seconds run, shit.

Sc is after 20 seconds into the map, it's not making it a 20 second map. It only saves you like 5 seconds ...
03/02/2016 19:41OK. I knew this sc before and I didn't remove it because I was thinking those intentional shortcuts give some more variety in gameplay. If someone does a great run without any mistakes but only he skips the shortcuts there's a good chance for other players to improve it. I was expecting the mapcheck team to inform me about it but because I haven't received any (I'm talking about this specific one but not about the end of the map) so I just left it as it is. :)
03/02/2016 20:16I am not a pro dcjer but come on, that spot is hell crap to do a decent pre and even if you do it, you save like 5 to 10 seconds, in the end, its ur call again to try a not easy dcj pre and fail for another 5 seconds.

03/02/2016 21:03this is just another good chance for LJ'ers to win on this map. with the two 256's you're going to be saving 10 seconds in total, which is kinda lame on a speed map. Anyway i'm not here to whine about it, I'm just letting you know this map was called prochallenge2_speed for a reason.
And lol at the people who thinks 5 seconds isn't a lot on a map that's barely 2:15 long (without the SC's).
03/02/2016 21:34Hey mpasd I'm sorry we got off on wrong foot, this really wasn't an attempt to bully you or anyone else in map check team, I'm not blaming anyone but the fact this turned out this way makes me kinda upset because.. napz layed it down exactly my way. This just doesn't feel right and I think it's pretty rational standpoint, I don't know why Kicius had to leave it this way.

Just look at LEWLY, I don't remember seeing him do 258 lj, 273 dcj, 270 cj and 248 bhop, yet he was faster than everyone on speed/long/hard maps.

it's the principle... a speed map shouldn't have 256 cj sc's to ruin it... ESPECIALLY not in a prochallenge competition where there's a purpose of separating each category. This isn't prochallenge2_mix you know? Shock for example is a good speed climber but only a half decent LJer, so he gets his maximum points from getting a good time on speed, and hopes for the best on prochallenge_longjump once that time comes around. hope you get my point...

maybe shooting-star would be a better example. he is barely visible here http://kzsk.sk/ljrekordy.php but he is taking all those legendary maps one by one. he is even evicting lj shortcuts because he doesn't need them to have better time, but I doubt that anyone is watching his demos. LEWLY would do 256 cj block for sure ;)

Getting a good time without the SC's is hard enough as it is, since it's pretty time consuming to perfect your demo. The 220 bhop LJ is also random as fuck tbh, GOD i hate BHOP LJ's in this game.
Anyway when it's time for prochallenge2_longjump I will be fine with getting owned by a longjump geek, just not on a speed map, please.

2nd SC: picture demo
3rd SC: picture demo

256 sc in a speed map is a big problem, u probably underrated every kz player.
