KZMod Update - Build 2750 - Game compatible with engine update (Turn off your beta!)
Hello everyone!
Apologies for how long this took, but KZMod is now compatible with the latest engine update, so using the "previous version" beta is no longer necessary. Also coming in this update is a few improvements to the game itself!
Remember to use your Update Kreedz Climbing link or KZUpdate to update, and look below this post for information on how to disable the beta version if you have enabled it. Enjoy!
-> Game is updated to support the latest version of the engine:
Same engine version as the latest TF2.
FPS improvements.
Security improvements.
Ingame web browser significantly improved.
Cubemap bug fixed in engine, so no need to use vbsp_kz anymore (and it isn't compatible with the new engine version right now, use vbsp - not doing this will make vrad fail with an invalid bsp version error).
And probably more!
KZMod changes:
New features:
-> Maximum velocity raised to 10,000 units / second, necessary for some maps that require this kind of speed (kz_surf_omnific).
-> func_brush_kzmod can now always be nonsolid via option even if it's visible.
-> Added kz_cl_player_walk_sounds, controls if player walk sounds can be heard.
-> Added kz_cl_player_jump_sounds, controls if player jumping sounds can be heard.
Both of these convars accept the following settings:
0: No sounds
1: Only your sounds
2: Only other player's sounds
3: All sounds
Also in the advanced options.
Bug fixes:
-> Fixed not being able to properly hear other player's jump sounds in normal gameplay and spectator mode.
Here's how to turn off the beta version:
1. Go to the Tools page of Steam.
2. Right click on Source SDK Base 2013 Multiplayer, and go to it's properties.
3. Select the Betas tab.
4. Select "NONE - Opt out of all beta programs."
That's all there is to it!
Where to find KZUpdate:
Go to the KreedzClimbing folder in your Steam SourceMods folder, and run KZUpdate.bat. That's all there is to it! Note that "Cleaning Updater SVN Directories" may take some time the first time the program is run, but not later times.
