Ideal bhop explained
u said u have to stay under 299 pre for ideal bhops (ofc known) now any practical tips to do that? is it some kind of strafing trick to get good distance and dont srew the next bhop pre?
The only way to win in situation when you have 300+ speed is to reduce it by ground friction. Keep your bhop at 340-350 u/s spending 2 frames on ground and your each bhop will have 290-300 prestrafe.
But on the practice you must have hell of a good reaction time in order to control that because only 1 frame (10 msec) difference can ruin everything.
just read more carefully ( perfect 1fog = landing speed < 300.0 ; perfect 2fog = landing speed > 300.0)
can you reup plugin? :PP

Haven't understood a single word :D
Thank you for amazing explanation. I'll have to read it couple of times, so I can remember it, and fully understand it, but I understand this is the simpliest way of explaining this.
@trajko, I'll try to explain it in a more simple way using less technical terms
If you have 1FOG bhop (fog = frame on ground; from "FPS" = frames per second), meaning, if you spend just 1 frame on the ground while bhopping, you need to have under 300 speed in order not to be reset to 240 speed.
If you have 2FOG bhop when touching the ground (meaning you spend 2 frames on the ground), you need to have above 300 speed (330 to 350 airspeed is recommendable). Why you'd ask? Well, that's because on the second frame (and after as well - 3rd, 4th and etc.) the "slowdown" effect after landing is activated and after each frame one is spending on the ground you will lose some speed.
The reason for perfect bhops using 2FOGs is that you will lose only around 50 speed from the second frame on the ground, which, considering your airspeed, if you have 350 you just have to substract these 50 u/s and get around 290-299 prestrafe for the next bhop which is why it's called perfect bhop.
The ideal conditions are to repeat the 2FOG scenario always, trying to get 340-350 airspeed after each 290-299 prestrafe while getting 2FOG bhop but really, it's impossible to control this, just to get lucky after tons of tries on bhop maps. Still, you can get at least more consistent with it if you play enough.
Hope you understand it better now and I hope I didn't give some false information @FAME or @Fiveshot correct me if I said anything wrong.
In short:
Under 300 airspeed = get 1FOG bhop and you won't be reset to 240 u/s
Above 300 airspeed = always get 2FOG bhops and you won't be reset to 240 u/s
It's kinda the same as when you go down on a slide, and then try to weirdjump at the end, usually you have too much speed so when you land you try to walk for a second or so in order to reduce your speed close to 299. As explained in this thread, for bhop it's the same but at an insanely shorter time interval. The explaination is really interesting but, for me, it's not useful for any jumper, there is no way you can actually manage that, unless you use some slowmo thingy lol
