Water reflection..?
Hello to all...im new at mapping so i need a help about this:
https://s31.postimg.org/ekaipzk5l/kako_to_be.jpg
how to get reflection in the water AND will the map has any 'side effects' (like bigger size of .bsp, fps problem or something else..) ? :)
Thanks
Decompile map, open map file and youll probably see everytxing you need..
well, actually (and it will be our little secret), SPOILER ALERT, its' not actually a reflection. it's just the upper part (the one where you play) copied and turned upside down to create the illusion of reflection. It's nothing complicated.
But it's super effective once you use it properly (like in that map).
@Dalxins: thank you but i wont do that
@Keo: i thought something similar: putting down an image of upper view..but with my thinking it wont change perspective and wont be realistic..:D thanks, but how i see i will leave it for now haha
Don't ever think like that. Anyone can create beautiful maps or scenes they think of, including this reflection thing.
What you need to do is test. Try to recreate that part in hammer, and see how it looks from there. That's how i improved in hammer, i always tested shit, even if i didn't use it in a current map.
i even dont know how to start that thing..:D about decompiling i wont do, so then copy to my map cuz for me thats pussy-move.....i will be concentrated to other parts now, cuz there are more important must-do things than this, i apreciatte your effort :)
Try this. I started from an empty room : https://postimg.org/image/7iv1xrm6v/
Copied the walls and ceiling, put them upside down and merged with the rest of the walls. The i func_wall the floor, with 180 transparency. https://postimg.org/image/7wwdxd6af/
Or this example with a sky https://postimg.org/image/yjbijff3r/
ahaaam, i get it now, gonna try one some my next projects. thanks ! :)
