Is this funny?
Hi, I wonder if anyone find this type of movies funny?
At first glance, I thought it was a video with millions of views that is targeted to a specific class of viewers that are associated with lower intelligence. This video seems to be closer to the montage parodies category but it uses retired memes from long ago. It is hard to gain audience when Youtube is already saturated with similar videos. I'd say the video is ok for showing it to friends and alike, but I don't know if it will appeal to a larger audience.
And wrong category. Everyone knowns cs go can't kz.
would be funny two years ago , overused old memes , no actually funny moments , no commentary and the ugly intro could be longer than 20 seconds
Thanks for the feedback guys, I really appreciate it. Got any tips or ideas that could work with this sort of random public clips or should I just leave it be? If anyone else also have some feedback, I would love to hear it.
watching it, Lollipops from 1.6 came into my mind. Its the best movie when it comes to this style of editing https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lgQXcSPEHgE
As for yours .. hmm, you did spend some time editing and its decent. The fact that you didn't make it more dynamic even by changing the pace abit .. seems plain. Try using more campaths (simple ones) where it's needed. Even so, creating a masterpiece (with this style) is kinda hard, its all about creativity and vision.
Btw, if you want your videos to be known, don't name 'em like that! I bet there are over 100 csgo movies titled "Funny montage/funny clips/funny moments" :) be creative
Good point Corbex. Thanks for the feedback and yeah, Lollipops are awesome, both #1 and #2.
do not leave it be if you enjoy doing it , try looking at something like SovietWombles csgo bullshitery , he has his own style of text usage and stuff , just don't overuse memes , there is no need to put something in for each frag , and if you have english speaking teammates (or you can just subtitle it) it is great if you put in some in-game audio if jokes/puns/laughs occur , it makes it much more personal and enjoyable , and as cobrex mentioned , find your own way to title the videos or they'll just get lost in the pile.
Good luck on future videos.
Thanks again fakan. I will check out SovietWombles now. Altho I of course need to find my own style, don't want to be a copycat or anything.
Is it funny to me? No.
Can you gain an audience with this? Yes. The thing about getting a fair amount of views on your youtube stuff is you have to be consistent for an extended period of time. It's not that much about the content. The thing is most people give up after a couple of months and this process might take even a few years. I guess before committing to this you have to ask yourself - Am I going to be dedicated and motivated to do this for a period of 1 year while all of my videos get ~200 views?
Thanks for the review psh. I have asked myself that and I'm not gonna give up, I'm willing to try for a long time to build an audience. I try to upload one video each day, but that will mostly be "walkthrough" type stuff that doesn't take much editing. I'm happy as long as I get about 1 view per video at the moment, so 200 would be awesome. Altho my goal is way higher then that, but that's in the long run. I do want to create something that the viewers can enjoy and appreciate tho combined with what enjoy and appreciate. Right now I'm not too certain about the "Funny Moments" series as I do think they get lost in the mix. I don't think only normal gameplay is gonna cut it tho. As I said earlier, I really do appreciate your guys input and for taking the time to watch it (or more), so big thank you for that :)
if you doing a funny montage of csgo u need to actually have some funny things to put in the video, u know? u just killing people with zeus and knife... that can be funny sometimes to you or to ppl that are playing with u but its no funny to me seeing noobs (just cause those guys in the video seems bad) getting killed by a knife... U need to get a compilation of unorthodox things, weird things, etc and then edit it... And like the others said, u also need to get better at your editing skills glhf
Thanks for the feedback Horfe, the tips are noted :)
Personally I don't find this kind of movies funny but I know there are some that gain really a lot of views. I think that is not so much due to epic moments or super thought out editing but rather voice communication subtlety with all the laughings and the shit they do in their clips, so pretty much my vision is you better find someone to play together with. But then it also depends on if you can be funny or laugh at stupid things or talk pure bullshit, the point is it lacks voice communication background. Good luck mate and be true to your thing and never stop if you really love what you do.
