problem is, I want to create a horizontal cylinder for a catwalk railing, but after I've created it and flipped it using ctrl+m, it becomes deformed:

you can see both the original cylinder and the copy that has been rotated 90 degrees, the result of which deforms it

i've tried to vertex it back to cylindrical form but it's no use since the original cylinders points are in between the grid lines

after this bug occurs, it bugs the block tool when I try to create new cylinders, they become deformed as well:

here you can see the newly created "cylinder" using the block tool

on top of this it also bugs the block tool when you're trying to create arches:

anyone know how to fix this? it's very annoying since every time this happens I need to restart hammer to fix it

i'm using VHE 3.5.3

edit:

I managed to work around it by copying the horizontal cylinder I made before (no idea how), rotating it as closely to the grid as I could and then by vertexing it onto the grid lines, still i'd appreciate if anyone knew how to avoid all that trouble

Make the first one at least 64x64 and then change the size of the blocks to what you want like this:

I'll do that, thanks!

That also happens if you rotate it with the standard rotating function inside the 2D view (holding shift of course)?

Make sure that all the vertices are on the grid before rotating in either case.

had no idea it snapped to grid if you hold shift while rotating, this is very useful, thanks
