The guy has now the biggest amount of wrs anyone has ever had in kz, and you tell me he's nowhere near the "real legends"? No offense, but calling some players "real legends" when others achieved even more in terms of numbers is something purely subjective and is, in the end, nothing but pure balllicking your favorite players.

You talk as if there is no limit when it comes down to improving your techniques, as if someone who started playing in 2006 for example would be some kind of undefeatable almighty kz god nowadays if he never stopped playing.
Don't get me wrong, I have huge respect for the oldschool players, but saying they were a lot better than nowadays' players is being immensely influenced by nostalgia, even when considering that many techniques were not known back in the days. The records got improved, the players improved.
You may argue that SS records those demos by going full nerd on the maps while some oldschool players like koukouz would record wrs in less than 50 tries, but the faster the wrs get, the more risks you have to take in order to record them, therefore you're more inclined to make mistakes, and watching SS' frenetic style and how fast he is, it's completely understandable why he needs so many tries.

When the new generation is stronger than previous one, it is evolving. By 'stronger' I mean a generation with greater average knowledge and skills no matter on exceptional individuals that could be way too bad or way too good compared to average.
Now, let's consider our community such an evolving population. In the beginning, there were people who just felt a need of change and started something that we call kreedz now. Even at that time, there were better players and worse players. Then, new techniques came to light and so did new players, who started immediately to climb maps in more effective way. This continued until now. So, basicly, general average knowledge constantly raised until now and who didn't keep up was suddenly standing back over there.
Let me proceed to the absurd comparison of different points on our timeline. At first, please try to compare your skills in usage of new technologies with the skills of your grandparents. Were there that dumb? Were they better? These are very stupid questions. My ancestors are not here for me to compare them and they intention has never been such. Our ancestors were there to evolve in the time they lived and in the end to bring their legacy to us. We all have been raised to be the best we can be.
The LEGEND is one word I want to explain in my understanding as well. The legend is a person, that was THE BEST once in the past and if we analyze his achievements, we will get most of the characteristic skill of that time stage he was in. That means, that LEGENDs are these people, that we remember because they were somehow SPECIAL IN THE PAST and showed the world something unknown, something NEW. If the individual couldn't take anything from the best, he can't respect these as legends.
If you don't evolve with the community and you stay in the past learning from old resources, you will be always behind. Evolution is unstoppable and by the time, my records will get beaten. If not, we stopped evolving and that will be the time xj will come dead.

What started off with a potential thread of the year has changed into a poem or lyrics writing thread. Anyway.
1. Ask some oldschool pro's. They'll tell the new age players are even better than themselves. These guys are just robots, with programmable strafes like no mistakes are being made.
2. Due to point #1, records are no longer more possible to make in 10 tries or 15 minutes, they have elliviated to a level where perfection is almost attained.
3. We are always thankful to our forefathers of kreedz and the 1st generation legends who provided the platform to improve upon them, the newer players improved upon them. Are those better? Are these better? We would never know. You are comparing two time frames, players of different era can't come and play together. Life happens. You move off from gaming. You gotta take care of actual things that matter in your life, not how quickly one finishes the timer button. One day SS demos might be beaten by someone else, will we be able to tell? No. SS prolly would leave the arena by then.
4. Sure SS is not buttery smooth and treat to the eye as smoothness is defined in the demos of most smoothest demos of history of kz (Kanye, toffiffee, noxer, gLp etc), but you can't undermine the fact that he is wicked sick fast. His demos represent that of a common player, shaky hands, tensioned feel, not that of a robot. And that's exactly why he is so liked. We are off to a time when style has become secondary and time is foreground, otherwise the relaxed style of zhady or the tiny circlestrafes of tarGet or the smoothness of ted was yet to be replaced. But we are talking about time here. If you are judging styles make a different thread. SS is fast and his control over bhops, eb, JB and all techniques speaks volumes of this fact.
