HAMMER COMPILE PROBLEM
Hello! I need to correct a problem in my map, nks told me to use "-cliptype precise" to correct it, but everytime I add it to compile parameters I just can't compile the map. All Hammer says is there was a problem compiling the map and check the log for the problem. But the problem is: there are no errors in the log! And everytime I remove "-cliptype precise" from the compile parameters the map compiles just fine, but I can't leave the map that way. Ideas?
well why u wanna use -cliptype precise?
what's the issue u are trying to fix on the map?

Slide problem, really annoying because the slides are hard but this problem makes them annoying as they require absolute precision.
what makes u thing this cliptype thing will help?
is there no alternative ? can u show the issue.. what happens etc in game
If you install and correctly setup Batch Compiler you won't have that problems any more, VHE compile doesn't suport using to much clipping or "vertex tool" ,so I you have that objects, delete them and make again similar or with less cliping
Batch compiler doesn't work for me, I tried many many times to make it work, I tried a bunch of different configs, read a hell lot of tutorials but it simply doesn't work so I gave up. Karli I already said what is the problem, it is making 2 hard slides really, really annoying, I can't leave the map that way.
Show me a pic of the slides
if you have a lot of slides players need to use then you should avoid using -cliptype precise. It adds additional hull values to all slopes and calculates things differently, slides in such map become to feel very unnatural to jumpers.
What is the initial problem that made you use -cliptype prices in the first place? What compiling tools do you use? I would strongly recommend to use ZHLT modification by Vluzacn version 34, it has some significant improvements including default -cliptype algorithms. If you are share the exact issue with us or try to find another solution yourself.
Well, niukkis told me to use cliptype precise to correct the issue. It was like a small invisible wall touching the slide, rendering players unable to jump properly and get the right pre. I am using the latest compile tools by Vluzacn. I installed VHE 3.5.3 now and I can compile with cliptype precise, but the invis wall still persists, so I put the slides around 4 units below the floor, and now it works fine, it doesn't look very beautiful but it is the only way I found to correct the problem. If I have any new problem with the map I will let you guys know it.
EDIT: Now I am having another problem. The map has a sound, but when people join my lan, none of them download the .wav (altough they download the map), I can normally hear the sound but nobody else can because they simply don't download it, why? I tried renaming the .wave, changing folder, path, changing the audio quality, format, compiling in normal/expert mode, compiling with the 3 VHE I have but nothing works...
Have you included the pathfile in the .res file of the map?
Maybe cause your lan on cl_allowdownload "0" ?

No, it was also tested on Cosy server and there were no wav file downloads.
All problems were fixed, thanks to niuk. I asked him to try to change the .wav quality and it worked, as for the ramps; -cliptype legacy did the job. Thank you all for the help.
