Hello. I know many people asked about some stuff related to fps but I couldn't find someone with the question I have, so I decided to make this thread. I have this question around my mind for a looooong time.
Before the 1.6 engine get updated, you could notice a very interesting thing with some fps settings. You can test it on non-steam. If you put 200 fps, you can go pretty fast, but if you put 201, it will look like you are using some slowmo hack. Same thing with 250/251, 300/301, 500/501, the funniest ones are 551 and 651, it is ridiculously slow. The question is: Why that happens? What makes 500 fps faster than 501/551/651?

Yea, i have known that for years especially funny with autobhop on deathruns to play around with.
600 fps is for sure slower but it actually is better in some situations to do really difficult shortcuts.
FPS are often bound to game physics some games just get faster in some aspects with more frames if you exceed the frame lock in dark souls for example your weapons will break faster and you will have less invincibility frames at rolling.
So i guess the cs 1.6 physics is trying to compensate for the increased speed by slowing it down from the said 551 to 651 fps then again you get even faster and the slowdown is not enough anymore to compensate for the speed. Never got above 1000 fps but would be interesting to know if there is another of those slowdowns at 1200 fps for example. I also think there is a slight slowdown at 800 fps but its not as hard as the 600 fps one.

You mean 4554 or 6153 build?

Dunno what build was that, I just remember it was before that 2013 update.
