Cooperation map ideas / New map upcoming
This is a post in KZmod Section about cooperation maps in Kreedz Climbing and for players who are interested in it. The idea is to build more such maps like 2man, 3man, or even 4man, which kzmod hasn't got yet. They are fun, they are few.
Therefore, I offer anyone, both mappers and, especially, not mappers, to share reasonable ideas, preferably, for 2man, 3man map sections, that could be implemented and fun to play. On my behalf, I will try to build some coop maps out of those ideas ;)
I have already started to make a new 2man map course, so you can help with your creativity if you want to.
Looking forward to it! The 2/3-man maps we've got so far in KZmod are really fun. Can't wait to see more.
What i liked so far in KZmod CoOp maps:
Bhop parts which you have to solve together eg.:
Player1 touches Block1 unlocks Block1 for Player 2
Player 2 touches Block1 unlocks Block2 for Player 1
and so on and so on
Not sure if they already exists:
- Maybe a longjump which you have to land at the same time ( like 0.5s tolerance ). To make it a bit more difficult you could pack 2 or 3 of them behind eachother and fully reset if you fail one "stage". Would work for 3 / 4 players, too.
- Maybe some kind of "inverted" deathrun:
Player 1 has got to press buttons in the right moment to make platforms appear for player 2 ( + 3 + 4? ) so he can finish the course. Of course the platforms won't stay for too long and need to be well timed. Could maybe show the platforms as a "preview" with a transparent material so you know what you're triggering. Could also color-code it for better understanding. To bring some time-pressure into this, some kind of wall-of-reset could be chasing the running player(s) and if you take too much time you'll be reset back to the start of the course. You could also constantly flip the roles in such a course to make it more interesting: player 1 starts on a button side but at some point player 2 gets to press the buttons on his side for player 1.
If i come up with any more ideas I'll forward them to you.
For 2+man maps i always liked the idea where you pushed an object down ( like a crate) from the next part that some1 boosted you while the other guy did some jumps or just place in the right position.. i dont know i like the idea of pushable object down one lvl for other guy to come up :D
