hey .. this just came on my mind lol.
i remmeber when i was like 14-17 years old
i used to love gaming and staying home and enjoying, cant even stand up to go to wc,make food etc, used to give uip everything except school/work (if i must) for games etc, i am not saying its a correct thing but now i get bored so fast and i dont know what game to play long term where i can u know enjoy t.. in a sense of when you are out/busy/ u can't wait to get back home and enjoy that game u like to play..

how about you guys? are things keeping u busy from playing games anymore? what games do you play and cant stop playing?
thinking about old games.. i wish it was old times.. so i could play but now on those most game servers u dont see players like the old times .

if u dont understrand what i said, just describe how much do u play games now and how much did u do when u were younger.
=D

oh it's one of these threads again :D

Totally get this, I used to play a lot of old mmos and of course cs 1.6, and spent so much time on it, and loved it. Nowadays I have little to no time for games because of work and priorities, but for the past month I really wanted to get back that feel of being satisfied and entertained by playing a game, I bought a few new games, some mmos and tried revisiting all the old games I loved, but every one of them just felt dull and pointless, not rewarding in any way.

I think it is mostly because as you grow older and have less time, you value your time differently and even if not directly, you still subliminally realize that playing games is just losing time on non existing pixels and thus you can't space out of reality into playing endless hours anymore.

For me personally as a left-side brain dominant person, games were a path into getting to a right-side brain mode, where you just space out of and comprehend the things around you differently, which happens with activities such as drawing or composing music and other creatives. But I can't seem to achieve that state anymore somehow by playing games.

If you have some spare time on your hands I highly suggest you to read up some stuff about brain hemisphere dominance to get where I'm coming from, it is some interesting stuff, and some books out there even teach you how to use your right hemisphere by several activities like for example a drawing book I love, by Betty Edwards called drawing on the rights side of the brain http://drawright.com/ . Who knows, maybe you'll find a different satisfying hobby or start loving games again.

Now video games is just basically a time killer for me. A way to sit back and get wasted all alone for a while to stress out and listen some of my favourite music. Except Quake maybe, you can't really play with music in this game, unless you play some <1600 elo scrub :D Sometimes I play homm3 with my friends, it's still fun somehow but you gotta wait ass long time for your turn to come, this being the only downside in this game though <3
