VK.com (like russian fb?)
Hi guys...this thread is a little more associated with east-european people (?) russians the most i guess...
shock posted a msg about vk on chatbox so i just made a 'test' acc there...at first, it seems totally cool...i hope theres no promoted posts like in fb and seperated news feed...which are getting more and more annoying
can i get any 'deeper' explanation of any vk member? like, what are good things on that site, and is there any bad side at vk?
i searched - some problems = pirated stuff (dunno why is that imprtant, when everyone uses it, with or without vk we all know where to find pirated stuff...and something about porn, but didnt understund completly)
and how i hear, it has different 'encode/algorithm' for music than YT, didnt recognized perfectly, but seems its in better way hoho
22/01/2018 20:45I guess the biggest merit vk.com has had is free of charge music library but you are a little too late for that since they have imposed fees worth of a couple of bucks/month for accessing music library on mobile devices. You can still listen it for free for as much as you want as long as your display is on but if you turn it off you have only 30 minutes of free daily access. PC version of the site is totally free, however there's been some growth with copyrights issues (only on mobile app though) which is still barely noticeable.
Regarding newsfeed, it's been years since I last opened facebook so cannot really compare or know what you mean by separate newsfeed or promoted posts. But of course there are promo posts which are 1/20 on your newsfeed and you can tune your newsfeed according to your liking, thanks to the filters and other settings you can apply selectively to any member. There's also some porn but I honestly don't know if a lot or not but who cares if you can use bing.com anyway.
I don't know what else you want to know, it's better for you to see for yourself after some time given to it but for as long as it concerns me, it's really good site. However, you can clearly see people tend to stop using it for blogging purposes, you can barely see anyone posting new photo nowadays, 90% of people use instagram for this. I'd say the main purpose of use of vk.com in 2017 was chatting and listening to music. But there's again whatsapp that slowly displaces chatting use of vk.com so pretty much music only. As for my personal use, I listen there music, sometimes I chat, and I browse news (which come from publics I subscribed to) business, entrepreneurship, music updates, global news and shit.

@shock thanks..im not using mobile for anything online, so pc is only thing for me...how it seems it has a lot of music (but also popular ones arent listenable in my region wtf xD)
how i see its like streming (twitch alike) + music (soundcloud) and plus facebook idea

In Serbia, we use it to access porn from dorm network, because the site isn't categorized as pornography
