Syncing DeathAdder Elite to match Intelli 3.0
I've been using Microsoft Intelli Mouse 3.0 since 2003 (2.0 at that time to be exact). I had a couple of issues with my Intelli 3.0 recently so I ordered a Razor DeathAdder, as it seems to be somewhat the closest you can get to Intelli 3.0 nowadays. When you've used one type of mouse (sensitivity and acceleration) all you life, it will be hard to adapt to a new one. So, I've tuned the DPI settings of the Razor to match the old Intelli 3.0 pretty closely, but it's still not perfect. So I wondering if there is a way to make it match the Intelli 3.0 exactly or very close to it? I've always used the default windows setting on the Intelli and it accelerates when I drag it fast over the mouse pad although I have mouse acceleration 0 for my CS. I had to install the Razor software in order to tone done the DPI after I plugged it in as it was waaaay too high.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Most of the variations you'd experience using different mice with the same overall sensitivity would be differences in weight, weight distribution and sensor placement.
As far as I know the IE3.0 and the DA are very similar in raw weight - down to no more than a 5 gram difference, so I guess it mostly comes down to weight distribution and sensor placement.
Thanks for the reply, all though it has nothing to do with that. The problem is that the DeathAdder Elite has a lot higher DPI then the Intelli 3.0, so when you plug it in, it goes a lot faster (has a lot higher sensitivity). I tried matching it as well as possible with the program that comes with the DeathAdder, but it's still not quite right. I've heard that my intelli 3.0 has a DPI o 450, but if I turn the DPI on the DeathAdder down to 450, it becomes a lot slower then what the Intelli 3.0 is. I currently have it set on 700 DPI, which is close, but not quite right yet.
My guess is you're used to the 125hz polling rate of intellimouse, DA is at 1k by default, you can change it in synapse.
That actually might be it. Thank you :)
You used an intelli 3.0 for 15 years my man? Respect microsoft for making good products.
Yeah and I still got one in stock. I think I bought four of them (the dark grey ones) when they came out. Started of with a 2.0, when that got bad, I started on the 3.0's. I also got one for my grand parents when they had a computer, which I got back when they didn't need it anymore. I also bought 2x big Icemats (one still brand new in box) and started off with a normal sized one. I still got all of them so they are all usable, but a little wore down, like the scroll ofc gets worn down after all the bhopping and the buttons on the side get a little sticky or loose after they've been used much. Such a shame that the so called NEW version they put on the market is a lot worse then the old ones.
Haha nice, you should try to go to logitech Gxxxx. At least I remember how my bhop improved like 200 % going from 3.0 to G5
Hehe, not too sure about that, don't like the "transformers mouse" xD. Niukkis suggestion seemed to be exactly what I was looking for, so now they are match up as close as they can get. Still using the Intelli tho xD
