Steep slopes
I know that you jumpers are way skilled and can slide up very steep slopes. My question would be how steep they need to be to prevent you from taking such a shortcut?
Or need it be vertical to be safe? And is there a difference if it's from the ground level or above HJ heights?
If you are talking about blocks, 64 heights from the ground is high enough to prevent you to jump on it...don't get your question the best xd
I am talking about a sloped surface, a slide I guess. Like, as if I create hills or mountainsides..which angle of creation would be safe to use so skilled players can't slide up the wall? A vertical, 90 degree, wall is safe of course..but is 85 safe? 80? I want stuff to look good, but not create easy shortcuts at the same time..
There are no rules for your question. You can make slope with 85 degrees but that block must be higher than 64 height from the ground. In this case height should be more then 100 (just giving my opinion,it can be higher. Actually you must decide about it "in-eye" and check manually do you really can slide up. As you reduce the slope, you have to increase the height. You can share your work and we will help you.
205 height x 128 width is the ratio gorbachev (who's a dedicated steepslider) told me. This should mean that steeper slides are steep, and if theyre high enough it should be safe against climbing up.
Those measures are for triangle slide, for one side only just divide width by 2
There is certain angle where player cant slide up (simply with W). but still can be sc if its not high enough.
Just find good players to test your map.
Dont hesitate contacting me to test jumps/scs :D
Thanks =)
