Here's the 6 different textures I showed in an earlier post, 3 sizes of each, in one wad.

They are intended to be used with Render Mode 'Additive'.

Also, make sure to lower the FX Amount so you don't leave it at 255.

It depends on the background and surroundings, how bright you want it to be etc. No hard rules, just experiment and see what works.
