As the title says, is there a map that hasnt been beaten even with checkpoints?
Or a map that really deserves the DEATH difficulty?

HB_Mekko for example

hb_all1aNce pre-nerf was probably the hardest, and even the current version is probably one of the hardest maps.
hfr_hb_toffifee is probably still the hardest bhop map that has somewhat sane distances

Maps like ce_270x5 or vly_255x5 can be considered death tier, simply because its just a distance lj map.

You can always create a map that is only beatable on paper, but realistically nobody will play it. It's more about making interesting and technical maps rather than chasing ultra-distance jumps (© gorbachev)

Yep, trust me, technical maps are where it's at. You learn something new at every jump and you are able to improve your techniques to a whole new level making regular hard maps feel like child's play. In technical maps, you learn at every jump and challenge yourself with precision and extreme timing, at regular hard maps, you just strafe, strafe, strafe a bit more hoping to just reach that ultra-distance jump with minuscule prestrafe and that's all of it, literally. Literally nothing interesting about them apart from seeing how powerful your strafes are. I don't know what's fun about distance maps, you just rely on random 299 pres and extreme strafing rather than relying on solid techniques that you can get consistent at. Just look at throttle and see how amazingly consistent he is at complex jumps. Anyway, that's just me but I know there is a real background to what I am saying here. I am not judging people that like ultra-distance maps, they can be really fun to spectate people with sick strafing but for gameplay and diverty they are 3/10 at best. Cheers.
