Hey, i got an idea about an alternative longjump map where you need to jump over an elevated block instead of a gap

Image

Only thing i am not quite sure of is how high this elevated block should be.

So i've made a preview map with the block being 1,2,4,8,12 and 16 height difference

here you can find the maps.

Please give me some feedback about what feels best. maybe another number is necessary to find the equilibrium

maybe make your test projects into a single map? easier to test stuff when you don't have to keep changing maps and also easier to dl :D

As is mentioned in the chatbox, I use such longjumps in kz_labyrinth.

Yes, but I only use one height.

I know you do, but you know that you got hurdle run and also high jump at the olympics, right?

So what if some one could jump over a 56 unit high times 200 block, isn't that more difficult than 40 units high 256 long? (The ratio is completely out of proportion) why is there no olympic map for jumping?

That's a question I asked many years ago. I even had a draft for mapping contests on this theme, but the idea wasn't met with much enthusiasm.

Somewhat related; I was working on a practise map where you could adjust the dimensions of a longjump block (and set it to HJ as well). Don't remember the details, but I ran into problems ofc.

Great idea. Make a map with it!
