cj dcj and bhop is also perfs in 1.6. You cant hide behind an argument that is literally false.

zver02/04/2021 07:44

Not as random as perfs are in csgo

Oh really? Explain, I wonder why you know more than me

zver02/04/2021 15:34(edited 02/04/2021 15:40)

basically put, thats my opinion, but here are my arguments:

the thing with csgo perfs is that the difference between when you hit one and when u dont is very big, thats basically why a good part of doing a hard csgo map that involves bhopping is knowing how to save and redo the bhop when you dont hit the perf.

on the other hand on 1.6 i dont see it as a perf since the range is a lot bigger for it to happend, you can hit a 290 or a 299 and can be fine on most maps(id say 95% tbh)

also things like ljs that you can only bhop which you basically cant do if u dont perf it obviously

im not saying 'i know more than you', is just that from my experience, you are 10x more dependent on perfs in csgo than you are on 1.6

If you are saying that getting a perf is harder in csgo then I wouldnt agree.

Couldnt understand this, but most maps nowadays have anti-bhop triggers on lj blocks. (meaning you cant bhop these blocks)

I agree, but it's still very situational. If you mean that on some maps you need to perf multiple gaps to get good time?

I was very against csgo kz at first too because big speed and slippery floor = bad.

why does this look like 1.6 axn?

psh02/04/2021 16:31

Apples and oranges boys.

Regarding a CS1.6+GOKZ community? Most likely never going to happen.

zmokiE02/04/2021 17:08(edited 02/04/2021 17:11)

Yes same look for me 100aa axn xD I don't know much about the cs go jumping, all I know its faster engine, and not that many techniques as in 1.6 all I saw LEWELY streams all hard maps bhoping and hitting some prestrafes and flying 4 blocks ahead, how I see it easier in GO engine and you can see how player model speeds ups like AXN in 1.6 when you hitting prestrafe of course in goldsrc engine it's not same. It's more than 2 different communities.

Evis02/04/2021 18:27

it doesnt look like axn at all lol

zver02/04/2021 21:06

Its not like axn, you dont speed up, those 'speedups' from the video is just the perfs i was talking about, basically you can see there how much a difference a perf boosts your run compared to a mere normal bhop. Thats why i said on small maps it just depends of how lucky you get. Anyway, enough talking about that, it is really 2 very different games after all, i was just trying to prove my point, sorry if i offended anyone

Cobrex mapper Tournament #202/04/2021 22:09

the thing about 1.6 maps is that you dont need to hit few perfect bhops 100% of the time. (easy-hard diff)
csgo is full of maps that simply cannot be beaten unless you do the exact perfs..

as zver is saying, I feel the same way about hitting perfs in csgo compared to hitting good bhops in 1.6. Its just aint that likely to happen

not true, most new maps have 0 forced perfs

and new hard 1.6 maps are now almost exclusively perf bhop/cj grinds

jack frog03/04/2021 09:56

what the hell is a perf lol

btw has there any technique been discovered in csgo that wasn't intended by the developers? like cj in 1.6
That's why I always love 1.6 because it kind of evolved from its original game and bugs became techniques.

GOKZ is not vanilla settings. You cant kz in normal csgo.

basically hitting a bhop at the exact tick will give u a prestrafe of 380 (i think)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DP42PyTZmVk&ab_channel=TheNykaN if you want to know more i guess, 1st 2-3 min explains what a perf is if i recall correnctly

i think perfs get more consistent or smth like that in skz, which is also explained there, but if u play csgo kz it gets kinda confusing at first

Gorbachev_x mapper08/04/2021 16:10

The thing that makes GO kz so bad is the prestrafe variation. In 1.6 we have the maximum of ~299, meanwhile in CSGO it goes to 380. The variations can be ridiculous and make fast/bhop maps really annoying to play. And that combined with the lack of variety makes the game really uninteresting in my eyes.
The only thing that sparkled my interest was kz_unmake because the jumps were interesting. The absence of CJs and HJs make kz there very basic, combined with the axn-like bhop. I can't see myself liking such game. I'm just used to the incredible variety of 1.6 and the fun maps you can make to explore the movement mechanics. There is not much to do in csgo unfortunately.

i couldnt explain it for myself, gg gorba:

bluemagic mapper08/04/2021 22:14

I wouldn't integrate anything. CSGO kz is about random mods that enable prestrafe and make bhop more doable. I dont understand how anyone could find it fun when it isn't genuine movement of the game. Anything you practise on those servers can't be used in competetive game.
It looks like someone tried to make CSGO move bit like a CSS maybe?
In modern games developers are doing there best to avoid any speed gains on a ground and make bhop as random as possible. And that's how it will be forever.
1.6 or nothing
If you don't agree you could integrate Valorant instead which is probably closer to 1.6 when it comes to the bhop.
