1. I'm unable to browse through thread pages when going directly from 'Forum Messages' box:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z2v56mpwMvs

2. Avatar from the user that was loaded first, stays for all other users until site-refresh:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bhc2SJPTQjo

3. imgur, jpeg, 184x184, ~10KB
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W1pXCZrxmV8

4. 'Insert YT link' is missing (similar to newsposts/shortposts), although yt link is somehow embeded here https://kreedz.com/forum/threads/370172?page=1&scroll=last

(its really small tho)

Good catch! Should be fixed

For this, the check is maybe too severe, but you should really give the URL to an image - and only an image. Don't put the link to Imgur where you can see all the layout of the website, for example, you should give the image only. Because on the server side, I do a bunch of checks to avoid any malicious exploits.

I added a new button to embed a YT video:

It's lacking customization, but it will come at some point.

Thanks for quick fixes!

2. Seems to be working properly!

1. Not sure if you adressed this as well but it is working properly now, so I guess it's fixed:D

4. Seems to be working well! Just a small thing, when previewing the post with yt link it's slightly off (but its not a big deal tbh)

3. Understandable, but as seen in the video, I do exactly that. In the vid, I use a direct link to a pic. Instead of this https://imgur.com/a/Arw1j2k that links to an entire site with it's layout

I use a direct link to a pic: https://i.imgur.com/kD6wE7r.jpeg

So not sure if this is just imgur issue, I haven't tested any other sites yet.

5. When hovering over a post in the thread, all the links in the entire post are getting highlighted (suggesting that I'm hovering over a certain link, all the links in this case).

6. Do you know if anyone succeded to or even tried to setup their avatars? I went over 100 or more users that were recently active and no one seemed to have it yet. I guess it might be too early and ppl haven't tried yet or didnt even realize it :D But you seem to be the only one that has an avatar so far g-Lp :D

Yes, I fixed it!

I modified the behavior, no more button to embed a YT video, just copy/paste the link to the editor, should work better

Can you try again? I tried to improve the behavior

Indeed, should be fixed, thanks :)

Also, I improved the image management, if you put an image, you can resize it easily and move it around

For me didn't work also neither hosted in imgur neither in discord

keeza18/05/2025 16:34(edited 18/05/2025 16:41)

Also when I click to expand news post icon I get "Passing props on "Fragment"! The current component <Transition.Child /> is rendering a "Fragment". However we need to passthrough the following props: - ref - className - data-closed - data-enter - data-transition You can apply a few solutions: - Add an as="..." prop, to ensure that we render an actual element instead of a "Fragment". - Render a single element as the child so that we can forward the props onto that element."

Should be fixed, I was doing some dependencies update today and there was an unnoticed breaking change

CyniuThunder18/05/2025 19:00

After many tries I made it work, it's tinypic tho (I used their logo lul xDD)

https://i.imgur.com/nzhvpX4.png

I can;t get the imgur to work, I still get the same error
Also, will there be a way to remove the avatar or change it to default? :D

ImageShack worked for me

CyniuThunder18/05/2025 21:02

oh btw. not sure if this is any helpful, but I might mention as well, all pics/screenshots I posted above are from imgur, so they are working in posts but not working as avatar

g-Lprecord holder Tournament #118/05/2025 21:40

Thanks for the feedback on this. For now it's kinda difficult to upload an avatar I must admit. When I have time I'll make it more lenient. Try with another host, seems like Imgur doesn't fit well for now

yeah, I can see... GOATED PIC iykyk

ngl that has to be a new pogchamp

also I can confirm that resizing pictures works well, it's quite convenient and fast + pasting yt links works and they fit the preview, thanks for that!

edit: so far from all the sites mentioned

Must be hosted on a trusted domain

(Imgur, Discord, Google, Twitter, ImageShack, Tinypic, DropBox, etc.)

imgur - doesnt work

google - doesnt work

twitter - works

imageshack - works

tinypic - works

dropbox - doesnt work

It'll be good if someone else can test it as well, while Im pretty sure I linked imgur correctly, I'm not so sure about sites like google or dropbox, so double check could be useful:D

Hey, wanted to share a few observations that might help improve the user experience further.... now that the forum is back , appreciate all the effort done !!

Feedback on Front Page Layout

  1. Forum Visibility and Position

The forum used to be the heart of the community and was one of the first things you’d notice on the homepage. Now it’s been moved to the left side and shares space with other elements like server info and links to external platforms. It feels somewhat hidden and no longer invites active discussion, which might be why arguments are now popping up in the chatbox (something that used to be redirected to the forum).
Suggestion: Consider giving the forum more visual priority or a central presence again, maybe with a larger preview area or a dedicated central block.

  1. Visual Hierarchy and Color Usage

The entire site is very blue, which gives it a clean theme, but it also flattens the visual hierarchy. Important elements like "NEW" tags and updates can get lost easily. Even though red is used for "NEW", it’s small and doesn't stand out much after repeated visits.
Suggestions:

  • Use contrasting header colors (even subtle ones) for major sections like news, forum, or records.,

  • Make the "NEW" indicator more noticeable....perhaps a highlighted cell or row in red or orange, not just a small tag.,

  • Consider varying the layout height or style between blog posts, latest records, and forum messages to create better differentiation.

  1. Top Navigation Bar

The top bar with dropdown menus currently feels disconnected from the rest of the page.... it just sits there without much visual or structural integration.
Suggestion: Visually link the top navigation to the central content area, either through styling or layout tweaks.Maybe introduce a header section or subtle background change that helps guide the eye from the top down through the content.

  1. General Layout and First Impressions

Right now, all blocks(forum, records, chatbox, etc.)are on the same visual "level".Everything looks similar in shape, size, and color, which makes it hard to understand what’s important at first glance. And after a few visits, nothing really stands out.
Suggestion: Introduce more variation in box size, shape, or color. Maybe give important sections (like news or community updates) a slightly different background, border, or icon.

Final Thoughts I’m not a designer or dev, just someone who cares about this community and the site. I don’t have a perfect solution, but I wanted to share these thoughts in case they’re useful for future improvements. I really love that the site brought back the forum and actively improves as time passes , and I hope this feedback helps keep it improving.

Thanks for your work!

g-Lprecord holder Tournament #120/05/2025 17:50(edited 20/05/2025 17:52)

Hey, thanks for the suggestions, I love seeing feedback like this! What is currently done on the website can easily be modified, so don't hesitate.

Suggestion: Consider giving the forum more visual priority or a central presence again, maybe with a larger preview area or a dedicated central block

The problem is that we already have the latest demos section, I don't see a way to put the forum back at the center without completely hiding the news.

Make sense, I will see if I can come up with something better!

Visually link the top navigation to the central content area, either through styling or layout tweaks.Maybe introduce a header section or subtle background change that helps guide the eye from the top down through the content.

Not sure I get the issue or the solution here.

Introduce more variation in box size, shape, or color. Maybe give important sections (like news or community updates) a slightly different background, border, or icon.

I'm not a UI/UX expert, but I feel like having a homogenized layout is also important to add a distinct identity. Do you think you could come up with a very basic mock-up of your ideas?

Hey, thanks again for being open to suggestions!

I just wanted to share my observations .... I didn’t really have a full solution in mind.

I had this general feeling that some things could be improved, but honestly, I have zero experience with web design or anything like that, haha.Still, I gave it a shot and tried moving some things around in Paint.

It’s super basic and rough, so sorry if it comes off as non-serious!The goal was just to visually explain some ideas better than I could with words alone.

1. Top Navigation Replaced with Icons

I swapped the old text-based top nav with placeholder icons under the KREEDZ banner. These would ideally represent the old nav categories (e.g., wrench for tools, people talking for forum, etc.).

-Icons free up horizontal space, modernize the look, and make the layout cleaner and easier to navigate.

--I also included social links in between the sections with a subtle vertical divider line, just to break things up visually and give them a proper space without taking over the layout.

  1. Forum and Demo Sections Given Balanced Priority

The Latest Demos and Forum Messages are now side by side, kind of restoring their former presence without overpowering the news area.

I felt this gives a clearer “community activity snapshot” at a glance.

3. Blog/News Section Variations

I added color headers per post, just to distinguish different announcements or themes (For usual posts like map releases/cup/tournaments/contest/lj update/etc you can have same pic for specific category (would've been same for records but now is live at the top) , but maybe for more unique posts like the outside check you can have a random header image to bring attention to the post : "Oh shii havent seen this post image before, wonder what could it be " people might be intrigued.).

Small touches like icons, background color variations, or even subtle borders could help differentiate sections without overwhelming the eye.

4. Chat Section Colored

I applied light background colors per message block just to improve scannability. This could help the eye follow individual chats and make the block feel a bit more playful, without changing the structure at all.

I totally understand the importance of consistency, and your point about homogenized layout giving identity makes sense. What I tried here was introducing just a light level of visual variation, nothing too chaotic, just enough to improve clarity and flow.

These are just ideas ... happy for you to pick what works and throw away the rest.

Let me know what you think!

Cheers.

g-Lprecord holder Tournament #128/05/2025 06:09

Thanks for the mockup, I appreciate the effort.

It's difficult not to have a fixed width for the website, given it's current layout. Your example wouldn't work on 4k monitor for example, because the panels would be so far apart and not big enough that most of the screen would be left empty. Then it should also support monitors with small resolution, and in this case we cannot display both "latest demos" and "latest forum posts". I think it's quite difficult to come up with something good looking and that works for everything. Having a more dynamic display would require a complete change in the design (which we can do), but I get your ideas. As for the colors, I must admit I'm not a big fan :D

JocA Banned30/05/2025 22:26(edited 30/05/2025 22:36)

Hi guys, I got motivated by Spider1's mockup idea. So i went little more into making it more precise, its really hard to present my desig ideas with screenshot of current site and then editing that image in photoshop, but i tried my best:

My opinion is that the site has a looooot of different colors on the frong page, its of course these blue colors for divs/containers, then there is orange, then bright-blue, then red, then light-green. First thing which i did is to remove totally that green on the newspost...its so confusing to me with the color decisions, i dont want to say it looks like a draft-design to me, but i think fewer color differences will make better impact as on the whole picture of the site. That orange (buttons + titles) is again too bright to my eye, its like over-saturated...
Then, i think adding a some background to the Latest demo section will create something more interesting, than just one color. Colors of the mapname (and map of the day) i changed immediately, too bright - saturated...by the way my mockup of the whole site/image has some effects, like lower saturation, made it little darker - i persoanlly like it more - gives more serious note than brighter colors.
I didnt move any elements of the site, honestly i think they are properly set (except Forum/Short news).

I want to show also side by side, left picture is current design, right is my idea. Its like looking from the far distance, but it is also important while designing something:

Obviously its no big changes which i made, but thats what i did in like 1 hour. of course i can do more critical changes, that is not a problem..
i have idea for putting a forum on the main div (Latest Demos) but i didnt have time to draw it, and its not easy to do in PS this way...
If i wanted do better edit and better represent my idea, it would be even less colors - 2 or 3 as maximum (blue, not-oversaturated orange, and white), I doubt the admins/site designers will agree on that so i didnt put much effort

I will continue depending on the administration's feedback on this...no point in losing my time (and yours) if its not worth lol

and yes, thanks g-lp for being open to new ideas and suggestions, thats very good virtue!

JocA Banned02/06/2025 00:05

Update idea, all done in browser (inspect element)...YOLO hahah

g-Lprecord holder Tournament #108/06/2025 08:48(edited 08/06/2025 08:49)

Hey JocA, I kinda like the colors you chose. I don't know what is the opinion of others!
