A Few Questions (Re: Rules)
Average fps must be at least 85 fps.
Why is this? Does a lower FPS equal further jumping? I know that this happens with developer 1 and high fps (over 100). Edit: No, I think it's because edgebugs are easier to do. :o
What is meant by this? Obviously, you can change crosshair colour by other means... what's so bad about adjust crosshair? Does this mean like having a metabind where every time you jump your crosshair changes colour? Edit: Okay, I see how this works. That one wait (I found the script in question) is considered a cheat because a wait is much shorter then the amount of time between two clicks of the mousewheel. So, basically, there would be a fraction of a second less time that you were on the ground because the HL engine would be able to +jump again almost instantly. A bhop script has the same effect, the only difference is that the mousewheel requires constant scrolling...adjust_crosshair scripts (changing the color of the crosshair) aren't allowed.
Is it legal to use video cvars to make maps brighter? (If I use nightvision it drops my FPS, and some maps are really dark so I just remove the dynamic lighting effects altogether).
What exactly is a highjump? Edit: wtf it's the same as a longjump except across a gap instead of a few inches off the ground? I don't get it.
Thanks for the help in advance. Edit: 35 Views, no replies... :D

i couldn't tell you why the admins chose those certain rules but here is a good explanation of how highjumps work :)
http://xtreme-jumps.eu/forum_viewtopic.php?60.16996
okay a highjump is a jump frome one block to another one and the hole between the block is more than 70 units deep so u got more gravity and u see by yourself u can't jump that long as normal... if a jump is less deep than 70 units there isn't so much gravity there is the normal gravity witch u have when u jump without any change of the high between jump and landing too ... so i hope i had helped you
Average fps must be at least 85 fps.:
This is beacause your acceleration after landing is higher with lower fps. As you can see here the effect gets larger the lower your fps are:

And your re slowing down more after jumping with higher fps:

so a good mark where the effect is still not too big is 85fps.
adjust_crosshair scripts (changing the color of the crosshair) aren't allowed:
This is because there were some demos with adjust_crosshair on the mousewheel. If you have such a script on the mwheel you can bhop easier.
The wait is not shorter but it always lets a frame without a jump cmd between two jump cmds.
You can change your game appearance with cvars but you re not allowed to change the appearance of the map with a plugin.
Highjump is a jump which is higher than 70 units so you slow down on the edge if you re nearer than (13.6 +-1) units (the exact value depends on your velocity)
Haha, I knew it, bunnyhopping is easier with lower FPS, and now I know why. Those links don't seem to work. :SAverage fps must be at least 85 fps.:

Cool, because without gl_monolights 1 it's kinna hard to see sometimes... ;)
And thanks for the explanations about high-jumping, I think I get it now... just never knew it worked that way. You learn somethin' new every day.
@ jhump, rofl I know you... :D
Edit: Oh, and one more thing: Approximately how many units across is the infamous de_nuke red-rock jump? Or more specifically, how many units is it equivalent to on longjumps? (Because it's a high-jump)
