You can use animated textures. With this you can create an animation that covers a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 10 frames.

10 frames? that isn't much, is it?

Wouldnt it be possible to make ALOT of animated textures that makes a movie if they are played after eachother?
And then use triggers to make them start after another,
prolly gonna be alot of triggers and entitys but I would be possible,
the same way as the timer is built, if u only count how long the animation is and use that value instead of 1 second??

Anyone who wanna try this??

I don't understand how this should work. Can you explain it to me?

Lets say that the animation is 5sec long, then u use triggers and entitys so that it change the picture every 5 second. The same way as the timer is build but insted of counting from 0-9 it will change between animated textures. This will make it look like a movie (I think).

Oh, so it's possible to change the texture of a plane using a trigger? How do you do this?

Pf0llz0r mapper09/08/2007 12:10

No I mean with toggle wall or func door, so that the block comes out a little bit and all the other blocks are in a wall or something, so when its triggered the first block comes out, and after a few seconds (depends on how long the animation is) it goes back in and the second block comes out.

This will make it look like a movie If Im thinking right.

And I dont think that u need to sync the animations either cuz if they have the exact amount of frames it should take exactly the same amount of seconds to go through the animation. This will make it look like the animation continue to animate when its really a second block that is shown.

Maybe like this:
A button is pressed to start the "movie" >
block 1 comes out >
Wait for 5sek >
block 1 goes in and block 2 comes out (at the same time)>
Wait for 5sek >
block 2 goes in and block 3 comes out (at the same time)>
etc etc

Gonna test it when I get home.

acidburn09/08/2007 14:00

Ok got it. I think it should be possible. The question is the sync and how it look like when those blocks are moving towards eachother.

Pf0llz0r mapper09/08/2007 14:42

ye, well Im gonna try to make one later, post the map and screens if it works :D

Seems like a lot of work for just a little 10 or 15 seconds...
