Hi there!

I have question for admins but maybe also some members know the answer.

I saw bk#kL's 250 LJ demo and lj stats version 2.11 said that he jumped 252.067 units. In LJ records page there is written that he jumped 251.555 units. If fps death can show correct distance and lj stats are 100% correct why is that difference?

thx for response. peace :)

in the deleted thread from longjump stats where it stands that it is 100% correct eDark posted an example.

some jump was something like
xxx.xx3 in ljstats
and
xxx.xx4 in fps death

don't know exactelly the values, but anyway, the demonstration example to show that it is 100% correct showed that it is NOT 100% correct.

dunno abut the demo u asked, it's jsut to show that also the demonstration for "it's 100%" showed that it is not 100% :)
It was 99.9x% correct maybe okay, but not 100% :)

trouble you talk of 0,001 units, but if its incorrect by more than a half unit its still more than 99% correct, but far away from giving you some information you can rely on.

bakeLit02/09/2007 21:40

100% is 100% this is not 100% :D

Simen.beambean03/09/2007 00:10

It's no 100%

lagster mapper03/09/2007 02:13

thats a let down >_<

NeMiQ2203/09/2007 10:20

which one is 100% and which one no?
0,5 difference is not like 0,001

bakeLit03/09/2007 13:07

like i say :D 100% is 100% this is not 100% XJ haxxx

reinis603/09/2007 19:15

They made it that far. lets wait maybe they make it really 100% not 99.9%..... Even this is good :)

NeMiQ2208/09/2007 10:02

where is the truth? :(

Fact or Fiction08/09/2007 12:25

I checked most of the demos, And differences r: 252,123 -> 252,125 or 256,443 -> 256,440 but anyway ljstats are quite accurate. And that's enough for me ;)

ok here is the answer for your prob ^^

the plugin shows the direct distance of your jump in x,y direction

the values shown in the thread are the distances in x or y direction always only parallel to the blocks

if everything works as planned there should never be such a big difference between plugin and fps-death
but you re right there can be differences
this is because the plugin can only calculate in real time with one calculation and fps-death is rendering the distance with ~73 calculations so the fps-death value is more correct
but it shouldn t be bigger than 0.02 units
so it is ~99.992% correct and that s really close to 100% i think ^^
in the demo of bk#kl the plugin showed 252.067units and fps-death shows 252.077 units direct distance
so here it was 99.996% correct

I dont see why you are complaining. 99.99% is damn good. Who cares if its not 100%. Why are you so concerned with long jump plugins, its the point that he made the jump, not how far he actually jumped on stats. Come on now. :D

NeMiQ2208/09/2007 18:03

THX a lot eDark for your explanation, I didn't know that it's 252.077 with fps-death because in LJ thread is 251.555. 99.99% isn't 100% but yes it's damn close ^^.
kthxbye :)

it was just
99.99% isnt 100% and when u release something and say it's 100% than its obvious that on first difference which somebody see the question come wtf 100%? :D

anyway like eDark said 99.99x% is nearly 100% (but it is not exact 100%)
but its quite enough to train lj.
anyway also 95% would be good enough to practise lj :)

puppetz mapper08/09/2007 19:47

If the plugin just said "xxx jumped 245 units!" I would be fine. You can't use like 6 decimals (?) for anything . :/

Volsfootball08/09/2007 20:03

My point exactly PuppetZ^ :D
