ambient_generic tutorial

it may come as common sense to some, but i still cant get a map to load with any ambient_generic in it. it always freezes at "verifying resources..." does anyone know my problem, or know a step-by-step tutorial for making sounds? :confused:

i had the same problem, fragmccracken helped me, make a folder in cstrike/sounds/urmap'snameorwhateveruwant/ put the sounds there, and set 'em in vhe, it should work then

im pretty sure i tried that... but ill try again when i get home i guess :) thanks. rinkon said something about cue points... do you know what he was talking about?

to have a loopable sound in hl you need to specify cue points inside the wav file. I use Goldwave for this. all you basically do is set two cue points; one at the start and one at the end of the position you want to loop.

the wav also needs to have specific attributes to be used by the engine as you can read in the links below.
