Name: kz_ljblock
Current climb time: ?
Status: Started yesterday
Idea: Faker

Well, faker told me about his idea and I really liked it, so I just started working on that Lonjumpblock Map! :)

It's like when you dont make the Longjump, you get teleported to a Jump Part, as you can see on the screen.

Yeah, perhaps another theme.
The idea is good though.

Ovi mapper13/10/2007 13:57

Yeah textures will change, when I find some that will fit.

I <3 Oldschool

akkord mapper13/10/2007 17:18

do you really think that if someone misses the longjump in a run he will go for the blocks ?

NOT!

DRUNKEN MASTER13/10/2007 18:48

not all can do 250 1st try -.-

BooLiSH13/10/2007 19:03

the idea is good but the blocks should really be alternative ways not ways nobody uses until the lj's become 245+
you should work a bit on this problem...
altogether thumbs up (maybe a bit frendlier textures)

Agree with Boolish, the lj blocks size is a big question. 230-240 would be too "ez" to pwn the perfect run, but 250 would be unfair, who couldnt do 250 multiple times.

Murvelman13/10/2007 19:58

Making longjumps for everyone is impossible, jumpers will always be on different levels anyway, some think 250 is easy, some think it's hard.
Imo you aren't supposed to be able to longjump all the way, so a wide range of longjumps would be best imo.
Something like 230-255 would be the best option imo, that would cover the skill level of most players.
Another option is to make to versions, easy and hard with maybe 230-245 on the easy one and 240-255 on the hard.
Of course it also depends on the number of blocks.

perdoo13/10/2007 21:32

It looks really oldschool, n1.

colix mapper14/10/2007 08:51

Murvelman is right, maybe an ez and a h version would be the best.
But 230 - 245 for the ez version isnt so ez imo
it should be like 225-240 or less.

and 240-255 for hard .... its ljblock not cjblock, so 255 is a bit much imo ...

reinis614/10/2007 10:16

Idia is nice... Agree with Colix about Lj block distances.

Well that's the point, you shouldn't be able to make all the longjumps. Imo the point is to reach your own limit and then use the climbparts, otherwise it'll just be another longjump map.

that's exactly what i was thinking. if you want to just make longjumps, go play one of the versions of drewbie_longjumps. this is cool because you can longjump until you're stuck, but you can still climb and get a time on it. seems really fun.

I like this idea, but I don't care what value will be used at the longjumps. I just hope the jumps will be worth climbing them.

lagster mapper15/10/2007 02:31

love the idea! and i think a ez and hard ver would be perfect. hard ver. MAX LJ should be at 250, no higher imo.
