command prompt

well i know this is off of the topic of steam/kz, but it is general help :)

i need to reformat my computer using a windows reinstallation cd, and i have one, but my computer wont boot from the cd normally. i know its not a cd problem because ive used it on two other computers tonight (one is the one that im typing from) so the question is, how can i use the command prompt to get my computer to boot from cd? or to boot the cd. i cant boot in normal safe mode or start windows normally, because my activation time has gone by, although i am able to access the command prompt in safe mode. i know there are some people pretty adept at using it in this community, so could anyone give me a few command lines to use to make it run? <3 much appreciated

u can set the boot order in bios.
normally u get in bios by pressing "delete" key quite after u start ur computer. (on some machines it can be also "F2" or some other specific keys, mostly it stands somewhere "press xxx to entter setup").

then when u are in bios, there is somewhere something like "boot priority" or "boot order".
There u can set
1st boot device
2nd boot device
3rd boot device.

if ur cd rom is not a boot device BEFORE the harddisk, then change it, so that first come cd rom and after that the harddisk.
after changing, save this settings and restart.

yeah, i already tried that, and it gave me nothing. my computer used to give the little thing before loading windows that said "boot from disc" or whatever, but now it shows nothing at all, it completely skips that process. that'd why im trying to use the command prompt, its the only idea i have left.

maybe try resetting your bios by removing the battery from the mb , then see if command prompt works
if so , try D/directory/directory/directory/win.exe -h , or wherever your windows directory is located.
