Intel vs. AMD
Ok i know that AMD kicks Intel's ass in gaming performance. However, it seems that I cannot get a fast AMD processor without spending a lot of money, when I could just get a fast Intel. I feel like an asshole seriously considering to buy an Intel CPU, but I would like to know is if there will be any noticable difference in gaming if I got the 2.66ghz P4 over any AMD 64 bit chip in the price range of 5000-7000 swedish cash
Well you should know that the performance Intel gives (you mentioned 2.66ghz) is the maximal performance it can ever reach at a specific temperature and so on. So it is not the real speed of the cpu.
Whereas AMD indicates the average speed of its cpu, the speed you really will notice. This is why AMD processors with a lower frequency can be faster than Intel ones.
I HAVE (now :) ) "intel Core 2 Duo" :)

The new Core 2 Duo cpus are much better than their AMD equivalents. So choosing an Intel cpu for your next machine shouldn't make you feel like an asshole ;)
Actually you should feel bad about buying a Intel processor :D I don't know about you guys but AMD seems like a more geeky company than Intel.
I've always had this incarved into my brain, which is kinda true, "Intel == for newbies, AMD == computer geeks" :D
These are old times!
today intel is better
Yeh, intel ftw.
Amd ftw imo
Guys, this is no survey.
If you have some serious arguments to show up this would be awesome and interesting to read but nobody is interested in ur "xxx ftw" spamming.
Thx.
