fps problem
Hi,
I think 2 weeks ago this started, that when i join a public server my fps suddenly crashes down to like 20 or even 5 fps!
Sometimes i can play normal and have no prblems at all. This also happens on my LAN server. I allready reinstalled steam and cs (2 times lol) and i also reinstalled the drivers of my graphiccard.
My System:
2x3ghz (intel)
4gb ram
XFX 8800gts 640 mb
Pls help me with this. :(
virus, spyware? try cleaning out the registry if you havent done that in a while. helped me alot!
also try to go trough the fps "tutorial" on fps banana ( http://www.fpsbanana.com/tuts/3512 ) made wonders for me.

try change to widescreen and t hen back to normal! this worked for me when i got 10 fps after like 5 seconds on everey server!
well nothing helped so far but it seems like i can play on lan server and thats enough for me atm so thx to everyone (but if anybody knows a solution pls post it :)
So you cant connect to public servers? or is it just the fps that sucks in pub?
Deleting the prefetch is also a nice performance tweak you could do regularly.
Open notepad write this: "del C:\Windows\Prefetch\*.* /Q" without " (or wherever the path where windows is lcoated) save as .bat and execute the file. This probably wont help your problem (if its the public servers that is the problem), but might boost your fps a little.
don't reinstall the video card drivers, change them.
try modified drivers 163.69 by Xtreme-G.
