What are overlay textures?
Well some of the wadfathers wadfiles has 2 textures which looks like the other ones on the first view. But no they aren't same! If you look right the overlay texture has no borders(they are black!).

When are we going to use overlay textures?
The overlay textures will be used when you are going to light up a computer or a normal light without border. It is a nice effect too. Because if you set the textlight on the normal texture, the whole texture will be brighter!

Startup:
So you create a computer or a light for a overlay. Now make a new brush with the same size like the computer or the light, but it should be 1unit thin! Texture the whole brush with the nulltexture and after that give the frontside the overlay texture. Make the brush with the overlay texture to a func_illusionary with render mode additive and the fx amount is depends on your lightsettings.
Now apply on the overlay texture your textlight.
Compile and view your new overlay effect ingame!
