Longjump x-factor ????
First of all i didnt no wot to name this thread and whether its in the right place or not but ow well.
Secondly i would like to know how long exactly a jump lasts. using the fact that if u run at 250.000000 u/s your prestrafe is 250 and i do absolutelty nothing except duck my speed doesnt change (newtons 1st law A physical body will remain at rest, or continue to move at a constant velocity, unless an external net force acts upon it) as cs obviously doesnt code for something complex as air restistance then my average speed in the horizontal axis is 250 from this i achieve an average jump length of 215.131xxx give or take 0.0005. thus 215.131/250 = 0.860524 seconds.
Where am i going with all this i hear u cry well its average speed. In the latest update of LJ stats it tells you how many units a second you gained in each strafe (not sure what the second column is i think its units a second lost in that strafe), how long the strafe lasted as a percentage, and for how long in that strafe you were accelerating (sync). This helps with understanding the X-factor of longjumping that people are not sure of.
Example
Bibo's 255 block
Details: 255.260 units (255) / 273.05 prestrafe / 333.605 topspeed
when bibos jump was posted everybody was expecting amaizing stats like 276.x pre and 34x max speed, but thats not what is important, his average speed was just very high. only slightly higher than a 254 jump but still higer, and as your probibly aware a car traveling at an average speed of lets say 300 mph for 1 hour will travel further than a car traveling at 295 mph for 1 hour. from bibos length and the time it takes for a jump i get bibos average speed to be around 296.633 untis a second. Which seems very reasonable as his pre was about 30 less than 300 and max speed was about 30 more, but its not as simple as that, what about in between maxspeed and prestrafe.
what im getting at is bibo achieved a speed close to his maxspeed a lot quicker than say someone with the same pre, max speed, strafes, sync who only jumped 250. Thats why its important to do a big strafe at the begining of your longjump to quickly gain a lot of units so that your average speed will be a lot higher, but using this fact in theory you should also do a semi-big last strafe because after all the gain you have made in the jump anhd then you make a big last strafe you will gain even more units but most importantly the average speed would be higher.
so if anyone can get the speed that bibo did on every frame whilst he was in the air and add them all up and divide by how many frames he was in the air, then we can see his average speed and if i was right or not (im probibly way of the mark but i killed a few minutes typing all of this up)
p.s. can someone please script average speed into the ljstats plugin aswell as 2 prestrafes for when you CJ when running on ground (normal pre) and after the duck (CJ pre we currently see) and also gain in the cj pre i.e it shows this
Prestrafe: Ground: 275.xxxxxx Pre: 287.xxxx (Gain: 12.xxx)

U did not plus the model lenght! The jump time with duck is 0,732 sec, cause jump height is 63 units, so as u know the the time of falling can be calculacted by this equasition: t=sqrt(2*H/g), in CS g = sv_gravity = 800 =>> time of falling from 63 units = 0,396 sec. If u want to calculate time of full jump u should plus the time of jump from the land to the point of the maximum jump height, it will be the same time as falling time from 45 units height (cause 45 units it is the height of jump with out duck) So, the time of jump = time of falling from 63 units + time of falling from 45 units. So, 0,396+0,335=0,731. But also u should plus the lenght of model, it is 32 units, so: 250*0,731+32=214,75, but i mistaked becouse of i used approached calculations. The right lenght ~ 215,15 or so..
Remember that average speed does not say much because the shape of the jump is important. Big strafes give big average speed but loses distance.

I'd love to see average speed plugin. I think it's really important

Yes average speed doesn't say everything, but this is nice when u can compare several YOUR OWN jumps, because your jump style and trajectory of jump doens't change.
see, thats y i always say this:
DONT WATCH STATS
stats don't mean anything until you land it on the block, just keep practicing on the block, if you don't your pre-strafe will be god awful on actual blocks
fof average speed is maybe the speed when you jump of .. its the smalles speed you have so the average speed will be the speed you have on the end of the jump - the speed when you jump .. O_O so if your delta speed is 70 from the strafes it will be 35 or something like that .. its useless anyway ..
and im not going to say anything in this thread cuz its useless i dont have the time and the nervs to try to teach someone sorry but dont have the time x_X

go and learn some math :> nothing personal
lol i know that if you have 275 pre and have 70 speed you will have 345 maxpseed .. but this is your best maxspeed.. so.. if you cut it in half should be about 30-35 the average maxspeed or something like that ..
Congratulations! You can show XJ that you know simple physics that a child should know!
Your point was already discussed in the other thread, why post a whole new one?

ROFLMAO!
you must have gone to a school for super nerds then tenub. and im sure u already knew that lolly, honest.
Yes my super nerd school taught me how to do simple multiplication. *last spam ends here*
