- Alt + P -> check if there are any probs (invalid solid structure, ...)

- scale some textures to 2.0 or something

- use the recommended settings for the final compile (only for ZHLT compiling tools)-> link (very important)

- delete some unused wads

If walls are func_walled, does it affect fps? I know they shouldn´t be but i´d also like to know what´s the difference if they are not func_walled. :P

Scale the texture higher.
Make button_target or func_wall useless thinks.
But better post me the link of the map and i take some pictures and some feedback what you can change!

post pictures of the map, then we better are possible to tell you the problem. sometimes pictures tells everything! It might be huge areas with alot of details or perhaps you have a LEAK in you map, like a hole in a wall out to the black in "hammer" imagin' you have a box you want to be waterproof, but isnt cuz there is a hole somewhere! but pictures describe everything we need I think

inSaaaNe17/03/2006 13:59

if he had a LEAK in his map, he couldn't compile it

AverageFreak17/03/2006 14:48

there are no leaks
but I got it
I made all jumps button_target and it worked fine :)
so you can close here

inSaaaNe17/03/2006 15:52

y button_target?
make them func_wall

AverageFreak17/03/2006 16:05

theres no difference

lol !amazed

Yes you can!

AverageFreak17/03/2006 21:26

Its compileable, but the map looks misshapen

inSaaaNe17/03/2006 22:48

maybe the lights were not compiled correctly?

AverageFreak18/03/2006 07:28

that might be a reason cause I removed light from the compile, because when I try to go,it gets stuck on 'leaf thread'
x)

omg
hlrad is a must for every compile

AverageFreak18/03/2006 16:33

if I dont remove it,it gets stuck so I had no other choice!

|Insomnia_19/03/2006 19:35

Leaf thread suckz0r. I got it fast by nulling and func_walling. :P

AverageFreak19/03/2006 19:53

I always funcwall and null
BUT ITS STILL THAT WAY :(
dunno what to do

inSaaaNe19/03/2006 20:24

leaf thread doesn't get stuck, it is still compiling but i think ur computer takes very long to compile the lighting
try to use this hlrad command in u expert console:
-chop 128
and sometimes the compiling console doesn't output the current status of ur compile anymore, in ur task manager u can look which process is currently running (hlrad.exe = lighting etc.)
cuz you said it gets stucked on Leaf Thread, that would be hlvis
