Request:a kreedz shortcut plugin
Hi,guys!
A few days ago,I connect to a server,and in this server,when you say /sc,it will show you the shortcuts on this map.
I just want to know,can I find it here,or can somebody make one plugin like that?
how it showed them? :D teleported you to selected one?
after you type the command,it will show the shortcut's picture.
I had this kinda idea long time ago but never though it would be possible to create such a plugin.I wish you guys good luck :D
should be poss to create but much work :S i wont do such a plugin even if its code might be easy
use plugin: commands MOTD's... and put "/cs" "link_to_image"

04/03/2008 14:30I think a database full of known SC-pictures would have been awesome, but a lot of work. And you can't accept all the scs(like the ones who skip 2 blocks or less)
I'm more for ravers idea instead of a database with images ^^.
You just need 2 coordinates for each sc, save them in a file, and draw a line between them. And you could add a menu item that hides/shows all "sc lines" on the map.
And adding the coordinates would take less time than doing lots of images and it would be more efficient when you actually play the map too. Easy to see sc's with it turned on.
But, anyone has the time to make it? :)
Ye, ravers idea is nice
it is nice but it too much work. the code of such a plugin is very simple but its very much work to update the data of all those shortcuts and to verify shortcuts' origin if u create a thread to collect all those data
05/03/2008 18:22Why not place a .txt file on a host, and update all the cordinates to that file? Only people with a special version of the plugin can save the cordinates and write it to this .txt file OR even a database.
why don't you make it like the measure plugin ? :> everyone will create his own database with the SCs and if someone want to make "a SC collection" ok but else everyone will do it one their own

ye, with a *.txt file where the points get saved.
if you say "/savesc" or sth like that the plugin asks you how many points you want to save for the beam.
in the next menu you can save the points.
(f.e.: press 1 for point 1, 2 for point 2, ..., 9 save, 0 exit)
and in the last menu you can give the sc a name or maybe coose if you want to save it as Shortcut XX.

first someone should make the plugin and then talk about future ideas ^^
imo the best way would be to make a file with configuration for each eg map.cfg file which would be apartly automaticaly loaded for each map,
that files could be published eg here in one post, and anyone could make/edit file which he would submit here, then if someone checked it, it could be placed in the first post,
if someone would post some crappy cfg file with bs, he could get warning or stuff,
it wouldnt take much time to do that if there would be ~100 people which would help to make a shortcut database.

as I said, make a dynamic .txt file where EVERY plugin user writes to. Then you get cordinates from EVERY map
