I recently installed the Climb mod [nightly build] by ian.cammarata on my KZ server, and when someone finishes the map an error reads "[Climb] DB Registration Error: Please notify a server admin".

I'm not a programer, and have no idea to even start to fix this problem, many other people have had similar issues but he hasnt responded to any of them on the AMX mod page.

here is a link the amxx plugin page http://forums.alliedmods.net/showthread.php?t=56826&page=12

Any help would be VERY helpful, otherwise thanks for reading

some sql error... are you sure that all sql information u put into the cvars are correct?

Shocka J24/05/2008 03:20

well.. not to sound retarded but idk any of that crap, all i did was put the amxx files in and the sma and inc files that came with the plugin, i didnt add any sql information at all =[

SchlumPF24/05/2008 11:26

that mayn cause the problem because climb does use sql as far as i know. better read its readme and try to install it again

There is no read me, but there is a file included with it called sql.txt that says...
"drop index scores_usermap_idx on climb_scores;
update climb_scores set wpns=7 where wpns=1;
update climb_scores set wpns=0 where wpns=6;
alter table climb_scores drop column fin_cnt;

If you're using sqlite, you'll want to do this with sqlitebrowser GUI.
(The alter table command won't work in SQLite, you'll need to use the GUI in SQLite browser to do it.)
http://sqlitebrowser.sourceforge.net

Then once you've done all that you can finalize the update by running the following command in game."

I'm not sure what that means..

Install MySQL first.

Shocka J26/05/2008 19:10

register_cvar( "climb_db_host", "127.0.0.1" )
should be changed to
register_cvar( "climb_db_host", "localhost" )

Shocka J06/06/2008 04:54(edited 06/06/2008 04:54)

where do i go after here
http://i31.tinypic.com/szagko.png

dEMolite mapper06/06/2008 06:48

nowhere because the plugin create the tables itself.

Shocka J06/06/2008 21:42

but where to i put in the
register_cvar( "climb_db_host", "localhost" )

and

drop index scores_usermap_idx on climb_scores;
update climb_scores set wpns=7 where wpns=1;
update climb_scores set wpns=0 where wpns=6;
alter table climb_scores drop column fin_cnt;

thanks

dEMolite mapper06/06/2008 23:32

you need to edit the sma file.
search for register_cvar( "climb_db_host", "127.0.0.1" )
and replace it with:
register_cvar( "climb_db_host", "localhost" )

then recompile it.

can you use an mysql from a website or does it have to be specifically from the server?

thanks

Fatalis07/06/2008 12:56

yea you can, just add your game server's ip to the remote sql (in cpanel if you have it)

it would probably be easier for you to use sqlite..

Shocka J08/06/2008 02:27

can it be run through Interworx?

Fatalis08/06/2008 03:09

Ask your host. You should just use sqlite, since it uses no sql server. Only use mysql if you plan on having the scores displayed on a website.

Shocka J10/06/2008 21:40

when using mysql how do you give the website permission from the server?

dEMolite mapper11/06/2008 00:28

it will be done from the username and the password which was setted up in the sql.cfg file in the config folder.

Amxx SQL modul will contact the mysql server and after avalid login process it will let the plugin do the stuff.

If you want to show the Top15 on your website too.
Then you need to create a php script which have access to the mysqldatabase.
