BCM5 and KZMSD unfinished
Yes, you are correct Sclum. KZM's sponsor's servers suck and cannot handle certain plugins. Im going to do a number of tests tonight comparing BCM and BM to see if its possible to lighten the crashing.
The error is SV_Getspace related, Happens when a player loads too many entity's at once.
161 Platforms in BCM,
162 Platforms in BM on assault.
Changing one of those platforms to a differnt size, or type causes a crash on both.
Interesting...
Simply changing the max range on assault to "3072" via hex editing, I am now able to stick over 250 platforms on the side of the building with BM (at 200-210 they start going invisible)
In doing so with BCM though It still crashes with 162 blocks
Other things that you can do is manually removing entitys from the map, hostages, doors, anything func_illusionary, func_breakable, spawn points assuming that you do not need all 32 for HnS.
For every entity that you delete that can be seen at the same time as a large number of blocks, thats one more block that you can add.
I'll keep looking into it, It looks like BM just does not send the entity info to the player if there is too many.
This is the only major road block that is stopping BCM from becoming popular.
i do not care whether someone forgets the capital letters in my name but why does everybody leave out whole letters? if it is so hard to spell my german name you will have to use the translated namewhich is smurf :)
The lack of an 'h' was defiantly a typo. I was just lazy to leave out the PF though ;P
Lowering the max view distance, and manually removing unneeded entity's (and then removing the entity deletion code from HnS plugin) seems to help quite abit.
If anyone has any ideas on how to actually solve the problem once and for all though give me a shout.
We lost our HnS server because it used too much cpu. Lots of blocks on the map = high cpu usage, and it's impossible to fix that. HnS server has been pissing me off for quite some time now, with the crashes, cpu usage, bugs, etc.
sad to tell thsi to you but fatalis should be right cuz, as he said, he spent much time on this. furthermore bm has the same problem afaik. maybe some amxx update with some new stuff which can be used by coders will help to solve that problem.
the only thing i can think about would be do not create many blocks in large areas and use other plugins to remove unneccessary entitys like hostages etc.
The high CPU usage and crashing are two different problems. I really could care less about the CPU usage, as long as you have a good host you should be fine.
The error on crashing is SZ_Getspace related, a quick google reveals that it happens when too much info is trying to be sent to the player, I.E. theres too many entitys being loaded into view.
BM does not have this problem nearly as bad as BCM, It seems like BM has a way to limit the amount of blocks a player can see or something of that sort.
mh i had a view on both plugin and the only "bad" think i could see is "stock Float:get_float_diffrence(Float:num1, Float:num2)" in fatalis plugin which is a function fatalis used to get the absolute instaed of using abs(num1-num2) or floatabs idk ^^
BCM by necro has any difference ?
