he did it with 279 stats and jumpoff was ~2,so you do the math :D

That is a rather impressive maxspeed, thus also an extraordinary speed gain accompanied with a proper prestrafe. kzru`ShoCk already made an observant discovery which questions the legitimacy of this jump: the framerate appears to be 360. It is not, however, a definite crushing blow to the credibility of the poster: it can be a demo viewed with a higher framerate. If it is a demo, please post it here to clear the questioning haze of uncertainty.


Here are some jumps I performed:

Distance: 256.725280 MaxSpeed: 338.143188 (63.575) PreStrafe: 274.568145 Strafes: 9 Sync: 81

Distance: 256.715850 MaxSpeed: 337.892089 (63.161) PreStrafe: 274.730895 Strafes: 8 Sync: 81

Distance: 252.343017 MaxSpeed: 330.664642 (63.975) PreStrafe: 266.689056 Strafes: 8 Sync: 83


I don't know if a 252 with 266 prestrafe is a really hard performance, but I haven't landed such jumps very often. I also landed some other rather intriguing jumps with a lower prestrafe: 254 with 269 prestrafe, 253 with 268.0 (almost 267.xxx :-/).

You should really make a bigger first strafe :P Gain like 12-14 with an airtime of 16 and wolá! That would also make you go straighter.
