Yeah..i mean how can it affect you when you are already 'gone' from the block..if u jump 2fog you cant do 249 for sure :D

kz_longjumps 2 units/frame
kz_longjumps2 0.9 units/frame
On kz_longjumps2 we can jump off bhop block right at the moment when it stops after moving up

I'm not sure but I recall this way jump lasts a frame more compared to usual 1 FOG stand-up bhop...

Thats how it should work atleast. The block movement can't trigger before 1FOG and if you do a 1FOG jump it in theory shouldn't be affecting height
It was actually discovered something like 9 years ago that bhop blocks start moving before the player lands on them. So it doesn't really matter what FOG your bhop is, more FOG of course means a more difficult bhop because the block has more time to move downwards. There were some speculations about collision hulls but I've never looked into the technical side of this. I'll get on it when I have the time.

nah, only with jumpbug it will work like that
maybe trigger_teleporting on top of the block will have the same effect but I'm not sure
is it not poss to fix the map? :)

You can't fix the map, since it was published ten years ago and through all that time there was people trying records on SBJ blocks, you can't change it since there's already a standard
haha

yea, I thought about that too. but still, it's a pity we get stuck with the number 248 because of a simple mapping mistake.

We both agree that there's a huge limitation because of the records, however, some mapper could try to port 248-249 into an own map, I don't know

with wj and other exotic techniques
if kz_longjumps3.bsp doesn't have nude pics room -- i ain't playing it

Changing anything in the way bhop lj works now is out of the question for obvious reasons. Can you really even call it a "mapping mistake"? Isn't it a crucial part of bhop blocks that they're quite unforgiving to bad bhops? Sure we might already have a 249 landed if bhop blocks didn't immediately go down on touch, but then it wouldn't even matter what blocks you're jumping on. You should also keep in mind we are getting close to the limits on all techniques, not only bhops.
i am pretty sure we are nowhere near the limits - i started believing there are no limits in longjumping as soon as i saw or did sick jumps.
can't say 249 is the limit for bhop, neither 272 for cj or 275 for dcj, not to mention 259lj is doable but requires insane focus and 101% effort but no one has time, nerves, resources to invest in doing that, + constant technology changes - talking about mouse sensors, software drivers, obvious hardware limitations like USB polling rate, HPET.
PS/2 keyboard that has 0 delay, pc running HPET both in bios and windows.
also small things like body position, hands position, height of the table and keyboard position, good mouse mat make big of a difference for lj, but.. sadly not many people care about the small details.
also commands like m_mousethread_sleep, cl_mousegrab, mouse accel tweaking etc. etc. make huge difference

I did 274 dcj using 8 years old G5 which I solder twice because it was dead and laying on the chair. I believie in detail thing but pure skill is everything.
What you all talking about.. blocks are moving before player land them? Nothing wrong with kz_longjumps2. In order to make successful sbj on any kind of block you have to jump with 1FOG and ~299 landing speed. During this kind of jump, sbj block on kz_longump2 is at 0 point of moving so it's basically the same as sbj on lj block. Take on mind vLy sbj rec: 248 sbj block distance 248.130 then why not 249 sbj block? You feeling insecure on sbj block because when u fail with 2+FOG bhops on mpbhops and w/o mpbhops feels different.

no. read my earlier posts
anyway I doubt there's disadvantage at least on ljs2
I think its a placebo..just hit 0.0x jumpoff on 249bj block and you are there!

You don't hit 249 as easily as on LJ blocks bru
