CJ HJ LJ Explanation
Hi guys :$
After hours and hours of searching trough site, I decided to open this thread. Can somenone briefly explain here main difference between these 3 techniques, and what is the trick to do them? Is there smthn special to achieve them ?
Also, what is dropbhop, duckbhop and technique which allows u to go fast on stairs(like in goldbhop at the end, is that stairduck or what) ?
Don't say search at google, or forum, I have headache of that searching, please explain here ....
LJ = Longjump http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W585WbgjRIA
HJ = HighJump http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3P70mO8Bnto
CJ = CountJump http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GTYGa4BI1mA

Wow, that explains alot;]
stairwalk = bind mwheelup "+duck" and walk against a stair and scroll up once and then press ctrl.. practise to get better/faster
dropbhop a.k.a. dropcj = you drop from an higher position to get more prestrafe.. and u also get an extra kick sometimes so u get further
duckbhop = bhopping while ducking
LJ = regular longjump
HJ = is also a longjump but with edgefriction, which means you have to jump 10~ units earlier to get somewhere
CJ = with cj you have to do a prestrafe, duck and turn (to get more prestrafe, coz when you duck u lose 20 speed or something) and then jump and strafe.. spectate someone on a longjump server or download some countjump record demos and then practise yourself
prestrafe = ground speed before you jump
hope that helped;] and np for typos.. im tired its 7:40 in the morning here and im about to go to bed ;]

Well actually dropbhop is not dropcj. That's like saying bhop is cj.
@ zyllE
Thank you very much :) But as you know, its a bit difficult to understand from words, so if u have enough time to record demos (for stairwalk, dropbhop, CJ and HJ) with showkeys, if its not a problem.....I know I'm askong to much, sorry :(
HJ is not complicated at all, you just do a normal LJ, but jump before the edge(12-13 units)
"Stairwalk", well I've never done it like zyllEE, but I have duck bound to mwheelup, and just roll it twice when walking up stairs, this is known as doubleducking. You can do this up all edges that are lower than 32 units or something.
Dropbhop is just a bhop from a higher position, you jump from a higher place, then land on the surface of your jump, then you jump of course and that's the dropbhop.
CJ: A little more complicated, but you simply do a prestrafe then a duck with mwheelup, and then you jump.
Rest is strafes.
dropcj is dropping from someplace, then doubleduck, and use the speed to get a boost on the cj if im correct.
hj 6-13 units
@ wrath
Ok, thanks, but as I said, its difficult to explain with words, however thank you. But can you record demoes (with showkeys if possible) instead of writing :)
I could, if I had showkeys =) Give me the plugin and I'll show you..
Btw, the jump in my avatar is done with drop-cj.

Here goes it : http://rapidshare.com/files/135424819/showkeys.rar.html
Explain briefly pls, you are good man :)
I'm gonna do it for you lolee.. But I can't get the letters to show up :S Any commands or something?
type /keys
Haha I tried /showkeys and /show :D But not /keys
Well here are the demos:
http://dump.no/files/dcd810f2af32/TECHNIQUES.rar
Includes:
CJ - Countjump
LJ - Longjump
HJ - Highjump
BJ - Bhop/Standup
Dropbhop
DropCJ
WeirdLJ/Ernstaugust
Hope the demos will be of any help! If you want more demos (if you find any of these bad at explaining the technique) just ask.
wRath you are good man :)
They are helpful, of course.....About this dropcj, on inferno in t base, I noticed you used duck a short time, but I couldn't understand when I should hit duck, even with 1/4 speed of demo replay...Can you explain it better ?
And in kz_kzsca_oasis, you landed with A + duck, how you didn't lose any hp ? :)

actually at the stair walk you can scroll up twice fast if you have the nervs and a good mouse scroll ( i think the effect is the same)
lolee: For dropcj it doesn't matter when you duck, as long as you duck off the edge, if you know what I mean. And the height doesn't matter either.
And the dropbhop, I think it wasn't high enough to lose health, and a dropbhop is just a bhop from a height.
When did we start talking about stairhop? Since it wasn't specifically asked for I'm assuming op already knows what it's all about... That being said, the descriptions given here are terrible :P
LJ: Longjump, not much to say, it's the classic method of getting over a long distance in KZ. Prestrafe into the jump to acheive a high ground speed, hit the jump key for takeoff, and then airstrafe back and forth to continue accelerating in air and increase total distance of jump.
HJ: HJ is a longjump with edgefriction, a little 12-13 units zone at the edge of the blocks. To jump hjs you need to jump at the right time to skip this zone, and therefore you will get further than if you walked all the way to the edge on it. Edgefriction applies to edges that are high.
CJ: Stands for "count jump". This hadn't been discovered yet back when I used to be more active in KZ. Basically, as I understand it it makes use of a duckhop (double duck) to emulate a bhop in terms of prestrafe and ground acceleration, but because the air time was created using a duck rather than a jump you aren't effected by the decrease in jump height normally attributed to BHops. Effectively it allows you to get the increased takeoff speed of a normal bhop combined with the increased jump height of a standard longjump, for massive distance. I suck at pulling them off, basically, it takes a tonne of practice to even be able to reliably get off the ground with this technique.
Dropbhop/cj: the major disadvantage of bhopping when used for longjumping was that it jumped a much lower total height than a standard takeoff jump. But the advantage of bhops used for longjumping were that they reached a much higher average airspeed, and therefore, if your takeoff point was significantly higher than your landing point, the extra airtime combined with extra airspeed means a much farther total jump distance than trying the same drop jump with a standard longjump. This of course now works with cj as well since cj are also not restricted by the low airspeeds of LJ in comparison to Bhop LJ. I'm not sure if there's a theoretical point at which a bhop dropjump is still superior to a cj dropjump, but generally speaking the cj should be better in the vast majority of situations (although it's also alot harder to execute)
Well you aren't as good at explaining yourself either.
Your explanation of HJ is totally wrong. HJ is a longjump with edgefriction, a little 12-13 units zone at the edge of the blocks. To jump hjs you need to jump at the right time to skip this zone, and therefore you will get further than if you walked all the way to the edge on it.
You need to do that pre Fact did to make a 235 hj with 240.
could some1 upload demo with showkeys or tell me how works this technique http://www.nuuk.nl/trickjumps/cs_siege_tj.jpg without loosing speed, it is some drop and then theres some CJ-ing/duckhoping.. I saw some jump techniques like that in zyllEE's movies on rooftops/mie
