procedure :

1-exporte from vegas : uncompressed avi without audio

2-exporte from vegas audio only (choose wav)

import the avi file in virtualdubmod, and select "stream/stream list" -> add your wav file here

and export in mkv, with x264 codec (supposed to be best)

thx to hytex, to learnt me this way, virtualdubmod is free.

nono. after startmovie, put the first screenshot in virtualdubmod (it now automatly find others) and set the fps value there :
video/frame rate -> change to :

and export the scene : avi uncompressed.

now edit with vegas. (only when all is finished, you can export from vegas, look at my previous message ;)

i dont remember where i've download this codec, i think isnt hard to find it on web...

qweek09/08/2008 21:29

8ball1, i got the codec but i cant find it in the codec list :/

noddan09/08/2008 23:02

8ball u use wmv9? with 4 bitrate?

8ball1 mapper moviemaker VIP10/08/2008 10:49

:/ sorry i'm not certifyed moviemaker, i just made tests render, and found a preset.
Wmv is not bad, you can use it properly. just make some tests.
like 1 minutes video for 30-40 mo

boom.dll10/08/2008 12:06

thats what i use ... and it gives good quality @ 30~ mb/min :)

i`m having a problem with rendering in .avi format with divx or xvid codecs... it keeps saying that the codec does not support the rendering settings oO... any ideas? :S

8ball, 2 more questions:
startmovie What value u use, and what about ur fps value in virtualdubmod ?
And 2nd: what resolution better for screenshots ?
P.S. Sorry for my sucky english ^_^

Mittelfinger27/09/2008 09:30

btw 8ball, can u give me ur icq number ?
<3 u so much %)

8ball1 mapper moviemaker VIP27/09/2008 15:18

i dont know what is a icq number.

how many fps : it depent of your hard disk capacity (i use 280fps for brianmovie2)

virtualdubmod max fps without audio = 200fps
(and can get more with a wav/mp3 stream file)

for your first movie, you can try 200, isn't bad

use mirv tool !
http://www.madabouthats.org/projects/mdt

you can get a custom resolution with this program
(use 960*540 or 1152*648)

easy codec = xvid (diferent than divx)

Spaniolu27/09/2008 15:35

wtf 280 and 333 fps :O
It must take ages to take out one single clip ? ;P

Spaniolu27/09/2008 17:12

lol but how can i put a demo recorded at 280 fps on normal play in vegas ? because the max playback rate is 4 ...

max is 7 i think .. use velocity and playback rate :)

8ball1 mapper moviemaker VIP28/09/2008 09:55

hytex is making a movie with 600fps (he said me, few quake' videos was made with 1000fps)

it should be probably better, but for which price?

Mittelfinger28/09/2008 10:33

10x 8ball !
I have 160gb hdd and ~50% free space, don't think what i can use even 200 fps :[
And so, fps value in startmovie = fps value in virtualdubmod or not ?

Spaniolu28/09/2008 12:48

nope, u can put 280 fps on startmovie and then change it to 120 or 90 in virtualdubmode :D
