Player size
about 0.01% difference and that is too much for a plugin that should be as accurate as possible
eDark nice explaining man! :)
Originally posted by eDarkplayersize isn t 32.0625 and it isn t 32.03125 it s exactly 32 units and you can land or jump only if you re closer or equal to 16 units away from an edge.
the wrong value of 32.0625 was the result of the collision distance to blocks it always keeps 0.03125 units between player and block but not between players.
so xj will use 32 units in the future
sry for messing this up first :/
now to your other thread with the edark distance thing ^^
the distance in numbs plugin is calculated with one frame precision so he is using one origin in relation to the landing to calculate the distance.
in fps-death it is using all origins of a jump and calculates the mean value so that value should be more accurate
As I remember. I once asked why not 32.(0)? You answered that this is offset due to some gravitation level bug.
But anyway. I created simple "say /origin" plugin what print's in chat your x y and z position. I went near the edge (not edge from what I can fall, but edge from what I can go away not in any horizontal direction (360C) but only 90C. Wrote /origin and it was:
x = *.03125
y = *.03125
z = *.*
And don't forget that maps allow only *.(0) entity edge origins.
Can prove it quite simple. You know the /gocheck stuck bug in xj servers? Plugin is using fun module for origin get/set. For those who don't know about it will explain:
fun module uses integer for origin get/set unlike fakemeta/engine uses float.
Integer example: 1
Float example: 1.0
So if player size is really 32.(0) it shouldn't have stuck problems with integer, cuz when user is near to wall his distance from it should be 16 units. But unfortunately it isn't and that's why we have stuck bug.
the 0.03125 units are only to horizintal blocks but you can t land or jump on these extra units
you just fall down if you re 0.01 units away and land 0.03125 units away
that s also why you can t fall down a 32 wide hole bcause there isn t enough space horizontally
to make it clear for all:
if you get near the block on the same hight as the block you ll get a distance of 0.03125 units
if you go over an edge you fall down at distance >0 and land at distance >0.03125
if you want to land on that 0.03125 units you fall down too and land at a distance >0.03125
so for collision in x/y direction the player width is 32.0625 units but for collision in z direction it s 32 units ...
So if i'll create a plugin what creates 2 blocks and make distance between them 32.03125 player won't fit in? And will fit in if I'll make distance 32.0625?
