Jump Difficulty Calculator

What does it do?
All you have to do is enter in the length of the jump and the height difference, and Jump Difficulty Calculator will calculate its approximate LJ equivalent.

Example:
A 512 unit long jump with a 512 unit drop will be approximately equivalent to a 245.79 LJ.

Note:
Jump Difficulty Calculator is still in beta and may not be completely accurate.

Planned Features:
- CJ difficulty
- Bhop difficulty
- Heavier weapons difficulties

Omfg! Great!

Can you check awp_rooftops, t-spawn to redroof?

gen4y18/01/2009 22:43

Lol thats cool!

st0ka18/01/2009 22:49

I tried it with raver's map for airstrafe practicing. It looks like according to your calculator heat did ~300 lj. :)
Anyways it's a good idea and you should keep developing it. You may also ask eDark about calculation algorithms since he was planning to create similar program. Good luck.

t-spawn to redroof (on de_nuke) is 192 units across and 32 units high, BUT you're landing on a 45° slope.. which means you can land aprox 10 units below the block and still land it.. so the actual height is aprox 22..
so according to my calculator, its difficulty is 225.35

Nah.. Heat made a 418 unit highjump with a 256 unit drop.. according to my calculator its a 259.41 LJ.. which may be a few units off.. but it's not 300...

225, that can't be true dude...? Maybe you took from CT spawn?

T-spawn - RR is pretty hard, I can't do it with LJ.

i r Screll18/01/2009 23:12

even heat and ajr cant do it with lj

nevermind i thought you were talking about the de_nuke redrock jump.. lmao

ok so the awp_rooftops jump is 352 units across and 128 units down.. but you're landing on about a 30° slope.. which means you can land aprox 7 units lower and will land it.. so the height would be about 135
according to my calculator its a 260 LJ

Well all I did was this: http://img149.imageshack.us/img149/7195/measureqb4.jpg
EDIT: This is 418 btw.

lol st0ka.. 490 is the length of the hypotenuse.. you want only the horizontal length..

i r Screll18/01/2009 23:26

k, then the jump length is around 418,4

-> ~ 253 lj

st0ka18/01/2009 23:27

Oh sorry misunderstood that part.

actually the jump length is 418.0.. just read the signs on the map =\

PepoMerca18/01/2009 23:42

REALLY nice dude :)

s1gh18/01/2009 23:51

I like it even better after the small update.

eDark19/01/2009 01:55

great start keep working on it :)
if you have any questions about calculations you can ask me ofc
you can also add jumps with rotated blocks :D

m0ver19/01/2009 02:45

Don't you increase your horizontal velocity during falling by strafing therefore extending jump? Or are you presuming that after you perform horizontal LJ part you just fall?

of course you will continue to gain horizontal speed while falling.. I took that into account when making the equation to calculate difficulty...

m0ver19/01/2009 04:06

Ok. GJ :)

:O

wanted to add this stuff to my measure plugin when i got more time... but first i need to manage some time to finish that roundtime plugin -.-

const PLAYER_WIDTH = 32.0625;
should be 32.0
