260, wow, that's a lot... :D

Grrr19/01/2009 14:28(edited 19/01/2009 14:30)

why it doesn't work for me ? (I add the values in jump distance and jump height and then I click on "calculate" but nothing happens ) :(

Haha nice :)

Where did you get those 30 degree and 7 units from? And is it possible to get the algorithms? If you already haven't seen this: http://xtreme-jumps.eu/e107_plugins/forum/forum_viewtopic.php?136151 Try to add something from there!

EDIT: And how did you get air time :O

SchlumPF19/01/2009 15:10

afaik its based on edarks calculation formula he posted anywhere here. just look at the sourcecode of the webpage and you can find some the whole calculation part easily.

wandereR19/01/2009 19:15

lol nice :)

const PLAYER_WIDTH = 32.0625;
should be 32.0

Alright well feel free to add this into your plugin.. unless you already have a more accurate way of calculating it.

I actually don't have a formula for finding the max height you can jump on a 30°.. I just know from making experiments on maps..
if you make a brush with a 45° slope.. then you can jump up to even if it's 73 units high (10 units higher than you can jump to a flat brush)

And yeah, I just used eDark's equation to find the airtime.. the only thing I had to change was to check to see if you fall more than 2437 units.. then you'll reach 2000 fall speed and will stop accelerating

EDIT: Ok so I just updated it to calculate the difficulty of the so called "Flibo Bug" where you jump diagonally from corner to corner.

I didn't actually get it how do you use the Jump Distance (y)... Mind making a picture? :)

Ok so you use SchlumPF's measure plugin and press 4 to turn on Detailed Results.. then you will see the X distance and the Y distance

Cool stuff SilverNinja! I tried using this on the cliffez sc and it says it's about 233.71(lj) and 240.5 hj. 388x, -256z.

Yeah I've tested it on the cliffez SC too.. the problem though is that the tree you jump off of has a pretty steep slope.. and since it's a high jump.. you're gonna be jumping early and will thus be jumping from lower down.. so the height difference will be a little less than 256.. (probably around 250) and it'll increase the difficulty.. but my calculator doesn't (yet) have the feature to calculate difficulty of sloped jumps.

EDIT: Oh and also you forgot to enter the Y distance (which is 64).. because you're jumping diagonally from corner to corner.

so awsome, i bookmarked it !!!!!!!!!!!

According to this calculator, it's 280.17 :| But I guess it depends a lot on your strafes.

There could be a box asking the maximum prestrafe you can get for the jump, since you can easily get 299 speed for this one :E Or just drop-cj and cj among lj and hj.

Trickster22/01/2009 15:41

so according this calculator its 100% possible, since there is plenty of time to strafe in air.

No :|

This calculator calculates the strafes too :F But it's not perfect :| I think it's like +/-5 units to the result in such big jump.

Great work SilverNinja !

SilverNinja mapper23/01/2009 04:25

Yeah right now it only calculates the difficulty to LJ it.. soon I will add difficulties for dropCJ, bhop, etc..
