What's the difference between 1000 and 500 Hz ?

taka30/04/2010 20:06(edited 30/04/2010 20:07)

Hz is the rate at which mouse position updates (updates/second) so, basically, the more hz the less latency and the smoother pointer movements (idk if that changes anything in cs though)

fizik05/06/2010 11:45(edited 05/06/2010 11:46)

But 500HZ is often better than 1000 because you rather have 500constant than 800-1200 switching all time, atleast from my expierence. I still use 1000 because I'm used to but if I would need to buy a new mouse,I'd stick to 500 till 1000 has been fully developed and would stay constant..

Anyways,new setup:

Mouse: Razer Deathadder 3,5g
Mousesettings: 3500 DPI & 1000 HZ / Windows Pointer 6/11,Razer setup 2,5/10,ingame 5,1
Keyboard: Laptop's keyboard (Best,I fucking swear!)
Mousepad: Steelseries QcK (best ever,srsly)
cpl mousefix instead of win7 fix
-console -demoedit -noforcemaccel -noforcemspd -noforcemparms -fullscreen
etc

u tend to have bigger speed gain, i mean its TOO obv, if comparing 128 hz to 500 for exp.

Mouse: Razer Lachesis
|_ Settings: 1500 DPI/1000 Hz, Windows Sensitivity 5, In-Game 7. No mouse fix, no command-line options.

Mousepad: Razer Mantis Control.

Keyboard: Random, I'll take what I can get.

Graphics Card: ATI Radeon HD5850

Thought it would be interesting to include the graphics card as it changes dramaticaly how things go over CS.
