You stay in primary school untill you reach 10-11 years, than you go to like high school(vidurinė mokykla in lithuanian) for another 4 years till grade 8th. When you finnish 8th grade, you can choose:
1stay in high school,
2go to vocational school (profesinÄ— mokykla in lithuanian (profkÄ— in slang)) there you can choose some kind of professions and learn it with default subjects
3go to the gymnasium (gimnazija in lithuanian) there you will get a better certificate or smth its just more difficult to learn in gymnasium.

After 12th grades, with good examination results you can go to university and get an education.

There is baccalaureate (bakalauro laipsnis) after 4years in university, if you want to continue your studies after two years you get an master's degree or magistracy (magistro laipsnis) and after idk how many years you can defend doctorate (daktaro laipsni).

you forgot to say that this year, Lithuania celebrates 1000th anniversary. And this year Vilnius is the Europe Capital of Culture.

Actually, the thing aftermatch mentioned can happen everywhere. In Bulgaria most of the people are nice and friendly, but the system is screwed. The edjucation is on low level and even if you study hard you wont get the desired life. I don't know why I should talk about things that I'm not proud of. But still... I'm proud to be a bulgarian, especially for our history and landmarks.

Hi

In Portugal you can get into kindergarten(infantário) at the age of 1 to 4/5. after thats start primary school(escola primaria) 1st to 4th grade ;after thats comes 2/3 cycle or basic school(escola básica) (5th to 9th grade) in 9th grade u have to do maths and Portuguese exams. Then we have what u may call high school( escola secundaria) its 10th, 11th n 12th grade. in 11th u have 2exams, (in my case "physics & chemistry" & "
biology and geology") and in 12th grade u have Maths & Portuguese exams again.

After that u go to work, or college( Universidade ) for more 3 to 5years.

You know, you don't have to be proud of anything, this thread has as objective to get culture from other countries, you can't do anything about it, that's not your proud thingy problem etc.. But it's still nice to understand how it works in other countries..

United States of America.

We start Pre-School at age 4 or 5 and then 1st grade starts at 5 or 6, depending on which year you started. Where I live you stay in the same school until 5th grade, and then move onto middle school. 6th, 7th and 8th grade are in middle school. Finally after 8th grade you start as a Freshman in high school. 10th grade you are a sophomore, 11th you are a junior and finally when you're a 12th grader you're a senior. After graduating school you can put yourself straight into the workforce or apply for college(s). Most people will choose college if they want to make the better decision. College can take another 12 years of your life if you're going for a PHD or more. (more being PHD in a different degree, could get your doctoral as well).

I like my opportunities and lifestyle in America. And of course if you're lucky enough you will find a wardrobe that leads to narnia.

I was with my Basketball team in Chicago when I was 16 and visited a High school there and attended to every class for 3 and a half days, and I gotta say the difficulty of their lessons was pretty low. Compared to what we were learning in school back home in Sweden those guys were like 1 year behind, or more.

Wow when I moved to Sweden I found the education pretty low, like 1 year behind. The US must be pretty low. No offence.

I guess I'll take seriously about Scotland,

One vital fact is, we are not part of England as many dumbasses think. We are part of the United Kingdom of Great Britian and Northern Ireland.

To any of you who have history books dated 1707 and later saying, the english fought in this war or whatever are wrong. Great Britain fought in those wars.

Oh and Andy Murray is Scottish not British thank you. But the english can support him if they want for all I care.

We were never conquered by the romans, or at least the highlands weren't, beacuse we're hardcore.

The scottish national drink is http://www.scotclans.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2009/05/irn-bru.gif and not whiskey.

Whiskey is for stuck up english tourists. Who come to our Scotland saying they love the beautiful countryside which belongs to them. It doesnt, it's ours. It's just a bunge of hills anyway.

Edinburgh is our capital which is prounounced E-din-Bruh. Nothing else.

Our flag is Blue and white and not the Union Jack. Come to Scotland and I'll give you £100 if you see that flying anywhere but government faggot buildings.

Everyone is welcome in Scotland, and if your French don't be afraid just beacuse the english hate you. We love you.
