Both ways work, but the word "pidän" actually holds both the words inside it.

Pidän = I like
Minä pidän = I like - the word "minä" (=me) is useless as it serves the same purpose without it.

In Lithuanian you can say in 3 ways :D
1.Man patinka vėžliai.
2.As mėgstu vėžlius.
3.Mėgstu vėžlius.

2nd and 3rd are the totally same.

As megstu - I like.
Megstu - I like

Another forms:
MÄ—gsti - You like
MÄ—gsta - He/She/It/They likes
MÄ—gstam(e) - We like
MÄ—gstat(e) - You (plural) like

"Minä pidän" sounds more correct since sentence without subject is weird. Anyway "pidän" is in genetive so I think both are equally correct. Am i correct?
