About spr1n's demo on kz_cg_wigbl0ck
Hello my friends!
Just saw kz_cg_wigbl0ck in 01:06 by spr1n, he did 3xJBs in a row in it. I have some experience in JBing by beating gigablock WR 2 years ago, I remeber how it is hard to do a single JB in a run and find it an impossible to do 3x in a row, i am absolutely sure he cheated somehow..
A possibility to do a single JB is ~1/30 or may be 1/50, will think it is 1/30, so:
to do 2x in a row 1/900
to do 3x in a row 1/27000
It looks like astronomical impossible to do it.. What do you think about his demo ?
theres already a thread closed in the chopping block forum - apparently he's been cleared of cheating - but same goes for alot of cheats that are undetectable.
personally i am not well enough informed on jbing to comment (have only done like 1 or 2 over the entire time ive played)
3 in a run is insane, and jb doesnt really seem like a technique you can get 'consistent' - again, probably not licensed to comment.
but i still think theres the possiblilty that hes not legit, and same goes for fof's xtremeblock demo + his lj and hj demos (havent watched his dcj)
- the way he strafes looks exactly like slowmo - xtremeblock is often jittery and he bops back up instantly after he falls back (unintentional fall) = impossible to react that fast, he does a bhop but realises hes not going to make it IMPOSSIBLY fast and does a 180 --- but that is another issue and i dont mean to go offtopic.
what was more sus to me about spr1n was watching him do jumpbug on an invisible platform twice.....im not saying he cheats 100%, i just think it shouldnt be ruled out

My own feeling.. 1JB~30-50 trys..
your feeling..
btw, what cheat is he using in your opinion?

I know enogh about JBing to say it. Ofc, we can make a demo with 10JBs and calculate an average number of tryes to do 1 single JB. As i said the possibility will be 1/30-50.. May be you will help me with that ?

I am not good at cheats or scripts or other illegal shit.. I have no idea how it is possible to do auto-JBer, may be a script which releaseы +duck in the last frame before touching the gorund ?
So, it will take me at least 100 tries to do a 250+ lj. Then everyone in the LJ records must be cheating? :o
I don't really see your logic... Besides jumpbugs depend a lot on your vertical speed, so you cant just say that you will make 1 jumpbug out of 30 tries no matter what.
for the first, scripts are impossible to use in steam due the steam update.
for the second, you think so just because you have never seen somebody doing 3 jumpbugs in a row.. puppetz had a good example which exactly describes that.

Of course not. You need a skill to do longjump, luck does not affects too much, but to do a JB you need only luck, it is an impossible to train it. And that is why your comparison not correct. Even a man who plays only tetris can do a JB with the same average % of succses.

No man. JumpBug is not depends on vertical speed. All you need to do a JB release +duck in the last frame before landing. It does not matter what speed do you have. Time of one frame is the same 0.01 sec.

Not really true. I never did JB in my life until I downloaded NumB's jumpbug trainer plugin. Then I did JB after ~20 tries and another one after ~10. They were low speed but it is possible to train them.

What do you base these "facts" on? It's impossible to train it? You don't really have any arguments.

Okay, I don't know if that is true, but if it is (and it might be) then it will be harder for you to react and tell when the last frame is, because you have a high falling speed. It's easier to predict when exactly you're going to land with a slow falling speed. Usually hight and falling speed are dependent on each other, except when you have reached your max falling velocity (2000 units/s or so?).
Anyway, if you keep this low level of discussing I'm not going to continue this.
Scripts doesn't have ground/above ground detection, so only via looping is possible to do JBs at random places(and still has some big chance for failed JB).
For 100% success with script u must start from the perfect position(accurated to units), and its almost impossible to use this method in run.
2nd way for 100% JB is using hax that has "above ground detection" - but unfortunately some haxxzors said that its impossible to do it
and also the chance for doing JB is based on u'r fps and the velocity u got (with more fps it increases, with more velocity it decreases)
ex: its harder to do JB with 1000 gravity instead of 500 / why? - cuz u need faster reflex to do the action
the same goes for the fps: u're 6 units above the ground, but u got 1000fps instead of 100, which means u got 10x frames more = 10x better reflex (human eye is 24 fps based, if it was 240 fps - we would be like flyes)
anyway the today's possible methods for doing JB with cheats are:
-slowmo
-looping script(not .cfg ofc, some program)
-plugin which does JB, (locating the ground, and doing the action)
EDIT: he could proof that he doesn't cheat if he do some handsshow JB movie
Well, one thing I understand - spr1n is obviously using some unusual way to do JBs easier... Doesn't matter if it's legit or not, the fact is that THAT way gives him (unfair) advantage amongst other players
[blockquote]What do you base these "facts" on? It's impossible to train it? You don't really have any arguments.[/blockquote]
Oh, okey. If you need some arguments let's start:
As Grrr said human eye is based on 24 frames per second. What it means ? It means what your computer shows 4 frames and your eye catched only 1. You have no idea what happeneds around you in the time between your "eye frame". Only this makes this technique "posibility based". But it is not all. The main thing is time of reaction. You can't catch an individual frame in which you are 1 frame before the ground simply because human's reaction time is not enough for it ;)
Try to play this little game:
There is a timer, start it and try to catch XX:XX:XX.00x every 10 second. Even if you will train it the whole day the best result you will get is +/- 0.15 second. That means 1/30 trys.
The same game you play when you try to catch a JB ;)
[blockquote]It's easier to predict when exactly you're going to land with a slow falling speed. Usually hight and falling speed are dependent on each other, except when you have reached your max falling velocity (2000 units/s or so?).[/blockquote]
Don't think.. It is the same.. If you falling with 2000u/s the space you need to "catch" is 20 units above the ground for an HL engine and 80 units above the ground for your eye. With falling speed 200. it is 2 for an engine and 8 for your eye ;) But as i said before it is not matter, cause you catch not the "space", but the frame.

Just did it 5 times in a row.
Lier.
we saw numb doing like 5jb's in a row on giga, didn't we?
We did not :)
there's a difference between doing 5 jbs in a row and doing 3 jb separately, in a run.. and puppetz, how can you compare doing 250 lj with jb? when doing lj you keep gochecking / climbing on the block again, it takes like 0.5 sec, so its very easy to catch some kind of rhythm, if you know what I mean. those 3 jb's are separated by climb parts that need to be done as well. and yes, the jb's don't have the same height, so each one is basically a different jump.

+1.. btw if u practice a lot, for sure u can do 3~5 jbs in a row..
