Longest bhopping EVER

Kreedzers have been challenging their own capability for ages now. And everybody is getting better and better, and find new ways to prove themselves as a KZ'er.

Amongst all climbing, surfing and bhopping timechallenges, I think that something is missing. Who has ever done the longest consecutive bhopping?

In soccer they have juggling as a recordbreaking competition full of prestige - maybe we should in KZ introduce consecutive bhopping as a competition in which we battle to see who can make the most consecutive bhops, or equally who can keep bhopping the longest time without failing.

Just a thought of mine, and I realize that the possibilites to create new ideas within this area is slim - however I just find it natural that someone should be crowned as the person able to bhop most flawless. It could be added as merely an addition to the already vast opportunities of competition within the KZ world.

A plugin would have to be made that could either register each bhop or register the time in which a person is bhopping.

I tried it out, and it seems possible to keep bhopping easily for 5 minutes, but what lies beyond that? In soccer-juggling I'm aware that people can juggle for more than 24 hours, so there should be plenty of room for improvement in this early stage of the concept... ;)

Let me now what you think and if you have ever thought about the same idea.

Back in 2006 spartibus released a couple of maps designed to test ones ability in consecutive bhopping. Pretty similar but with todays standard those maps are really easy. I guess a plugin would be better but it is much more boring :D http://xtreme-jumps.eu/e107_plugins/forum/forum_viewtopic.php?28550.0 <---- The old thread, the links are dead but I have uploaded the hardest one, kzus_omegabhop, for you. http://data.fuskbugg.se/skalman01/kzus_omegabhop.rar

I really think that any real good KZ'er can maintain a very good bhopping as long as he wants to. That means he could beat,as an extreme,24 hours for sure. But does anyone have the will to bhop that long? It's really just a question of how hard you want it.

MuscLe20/02/2010 20:39

Dunno if KZ'ers know so good bhop, but bhopers can for sure make it as long as they want. So competition in this would be bullshit.

Why would you separate them? There's no one who does just one of them...

From my own experience I know many good jumpers without bhop skillz, just bcs of that.

Trolis20/02/2010 22:32

how good are those jumpers?

MuscLe20/02/2010 22:51

i think i kz around the same level as napz. still sounds like a boring idea. would maps be just many blocks close together, or some far apart to make it hard?

too much unknow (if i write this word right) words.

MJK22/02/2010 22:51

I think may players can keep a bhop as mutch as they need it if your timeing is good its no problem and i dont think any one will go around a bhop map for 24 hrs x_X its abit dumb and all so what is considered a good bhop? if u make a plugin it must have some limit for example if your bhop goes under some speed to count as the end of the run ... u can duck and bhop very small distances all most forever...

This response made me think that this is indeed possible.

Whilest some of you think it is possible to bhop forever, I disagree. It's the same thing with soccer juggling - they can go on for a VERY long time, but not forever obviously.. HOWEVER, you are right that it seems boring, so your idea of making a plugin that could determine a certain speed of the bhop would make this competition alot more interessting.

Everybody is familiar with the fact that you usually get a sound from hitting the ground when doing a bhop that reaches a certain speed (which speed is this?) and that the bhop is silent, if it is very slow.. So there could be made a plugin for this particularly.

But your idea also opens up room for more originality within this, because it is possible to make several plugins that registers several different speeds, so that the skill level needed to jump with these plugins increases.

Done in the right way, I honestly think this could have potential.

Hmm i still think this kind of mod may be booring after all there are tons of Bhop maps where people show off theyr skillz ... but i think it will be fun to see a addon to the normal kz mod like a kz stat a statistic that shows after finishing a map for example ( Bhops Made ; Top Speed ;Most Bhops made with Top Speed ( leet speed ) and stuff like this .. so the idea can be added to a pub server ... and all so it will be interesting to see a Good Rec devided in to smaller parts for example to see how many Good bhops were made in a WR and whats the overal speed of the player and stuff like that ..may open a door to new Improved records ..
All so Multy times Kz records will be more interesting 4 example ezybhop x10 without stoping x_X.. Hmm i started talking shitzZzzzzzz GL HF :P

TlofT04/03/2010 06:18

most people could do ezybhop x10, it just depends how fast you wanna do it..

DiDo-Grecord holder04/03/2010 17:50

stormz had demo on 1 map that u bhop like 2-3 minutes nonstop :)

A while back, Bibo made 15420 consecutive bhops over a span of 2 hours and 47 minutes, but then his fingers started to hurt too badly, so he decided to stop. I still remember hearing his cries of agony as I watched him make his final bhops. It was a chilling experience that I will never forget.
