its the drivers use the ones on the disk not the ones from the website the drivers from website and or updater have been messed up for a long time

update ur drivers will fix the lag problems. Turn off mouse accerleration. 2000dpi win6 that would couse very fast mouse movement when u work in low resolutions such as 800*600 .

Just don't install the G5 drivers and do this shit. Click on your CS shortcut on worktable with mouse rightbutton => "properties" and add in "object" this line "-noforcemparms -noforcemspd -noforcemaccel -nowindirect". This totally block any acceleration.

Makes no sence to buy such mouse without using it at full strenght. As long as I know G5 driver center blocks any acceleration. I had some issues with it after installing win7 64bit, drivers that were on cd are not supported by it. After that I installed proper drivers that actually supported by my current system, (big thanks to Flibo for link!) and everything is fine now. So if you are using win7 64bit, make sure you got proper drivers installed.
I recommend to test your mouse at friends pc's with your current mousepad. If it has same problems on different rigs then you have to RMA it, since it might be damaged of broken already. If everything is fine, that means the problem is within your own rig.

As deus said, drivers are underrated. If you just look around a little you can disable the acceleration nice and quick from there, even for W7 64-bit :P
