fact or fictions count jump record?
nobody has answered my question.... Why the hell would you count the stats for a high jump over the blocks distance and not do the same for long jumps and count jumps. That doesn't make any sense what so ever.
The answer is that the assumption you have is wrong. I don't really understand what you're trying to say, but LJ, HJ and CJ are all treated the same way.

Stats are not counted over the block.
First comes the block, which ever block is highest will be #1 on the record list.
If 2 people happen to jump the same block, for example 2, 244 highjumps, the one with the highest stats will be number #1.
Is that what you mean?
lol if there was real-life highjumpers and they jumped at blocks, i wouldnt like to fail it :)
Originally posted by FliboWhy are you people simply stating that the stats don't matter and the block does? Try to imagine it with an open mind. The block actually only tells you that you managed to jump a distance more than what the block is. Stats tell you how long you jumped. Which one do you think is more important?
Moreover, real life long jumpers (athletes, you know) don't jump on blocks. They jump on ground. They're basically just using LJ stats: the ruler next to the area where one lands.
A LJ block is just a good challenge. I think LJ stats are what LJ records should be based on. LJ blocks are just so 00's...
you are defintly right that the stats does matter alot,
you cant take the block without having the stats, and its a lot easyer to take blocks when u have good stats.
but i still think that the edge, timing and so on is a big part of lj and i would be pretty borring if wrs wasnt at block.
but ofcourse more and more people just lj for making good stats

look habit,
if now we take cj and you do 250 block.
U can do it with 250 stats or more. it doens have to be 250 it can also be 251 or 252 or even more.
in FoFs countjump, hes server shows 274 at 272 but in record list the stats is 272 because when you get your lj at XJ some admins check ur demo and they can see the stats more correctly with some progeams.
so actually FoFs server showed wrong stats . it should have showed 272 stats if it was correctly.
if you go at the cj or lj list you can see that some players have taked the block with longer stats than the block is.
I dont know if it was this you didnt understand. but if it wasnt this you dont understand i really cant figure out what you mean
and btw, the reason that the jumps at the highjump list got much more stats than the block is. thats because at some reason i dont know when you jump to late you loose your prestrafe and can only make like 215 stats, so thats why you have to jump "i think its 11 units" before because then you dont loose your prestrafe and then you can make like 250 stats or more :)
so in ljs you can say like 240 hj is like 251 = 240 + 11 = 251 :)
but because you have to jump 11 unit before its pretty hard to edge. and thats why the hj record isnt 245 that is kind of the same as 256
the HJ wr is 244 because of EDGEFRICTION,
teh EDGEFRICTION is a weird physics thing that slows you down when you are running towards the edge of a block that is 70+ units HIGH.
understood? ;D
and other thing: you longjump in order to be able to jump from a block to other block don't matter the distance of the block. main thing of kz (climbing) is jumping from block to block. so the most important thing is how can you manage to jump from a block which is (for example) 70 units high, to other block at 240 units from the other. it doesn't matter if you jump 270 units stats and your jump off is 100 cause in the practice (climbing) you are just jumping 170 units that the noobest player can jump it with better edge.
wownuk that last example didnt come out very "right".
the question on-topic as already been answered so if habit doesnt quite understand it yet he needs to play some kz, beybey

Where does the justice part come in?
hm i meant, if i posted the same thing, everyone like u, would flame me, like most people here are, but juleeeh - teh admin wasn't flamed and was listened (its normal that humans listen to people of higher status), but was saying that its good to see that someone with a high status is saying this,

It has always been block first and it will always be block first. If we should go after the stats then g33ks like NFS will do 256+ on a 250 block , omg is that WR then!?!?!?. Nah don't think so.
But you can also be ironic, which makes me fail big time :b
No, I wasn't. It's always been like that, it's true, but things sometimes need to change. Yeah, I'd be glad to see the biggest stats wherever it is done, even if it's a 240 block. Don't get me wrong though, blocks still have their fascination and it would be pretty nice to see 257 block as well.
This is not bad idea to have ONE just one longest jump in every category not boring top20 stats or whatever, just the best. I don't watch best LJ,CJ blah stats thread everyday since I don't care about stats too much so I have no idea if it's 257 258 259 stats.
Ofc measured by fps death to avoid slight differences caused by different amxx plugins.
mmmm
L-O-L!
well this is going to offtopic.
on topic: ingame stats are often incorrect, for real ones you need to calculate them with additional programs.
