My friends holiday mushroom trip to Japan was canceled due to Iceland!
P.S: 'Canceled' or 'cancelled'? Both are correct, but what would you use? I started investigating this subject and I found it very interesting. I decided to use the "1 L-version" now, but sometimes I do use the "2 L-version".

As far as I know, Americans use 'canceled', whereas British use 'cancelled'. There are many other similar cases.

Yeah, British people add 2 'l's and Americans just one.
What if you were born in both countries at the same time and you also lived in both countries simultaneously whilst your everyday-life was fused together? Thats just a theory, but if the other half lived in Great Britain and the other half of your corpse lived in the United States of America you would end up with 2 theories of the amount of L's.
The first theory, ofcourse, is the one most of you propably thought of immediately. You would use 3 L's due to you being located in both places same time. You would use 'cancellled'.
The second theory, which is also a propable one, will use HALF of the amount of L's due to the body being cut to half. If you aren't a great mathematician I can show you the calculations:
GB = 2 L's (these are the "real values" to clear up the situation)
US = 1 L (these are the "real values" to clear up the situation)
B = Body (0.5 B = half of your body)
L = Letter(s)
2 L / 0.5 B = 4 L
1 L / 0.5 B = 1 L
So... in other words you would be using as many as 5 L's if it went by the second theory. Seems like alot, but 'cancellllled' doesn't look that bad.
The second question is very simple... which one of the theories are you supporting?
(P.S: Sorry for the typos, I'm drunk as hell! Also my calculations are fucked up, but its no problem, you get the point.)

looks like you used twice as many. (2 l's * .5) + (1 l * .5) = 1.5 l's
